Should the Presidential Debates Include Third-Party Candidates?

There was a great article in US News & World Report this week debating whether or not the three Presidential debates should include the third-party candidates or be limited to just McCain and Obama.  Some strong pros and cons were offered on both sides:

http://www.usnews.com/articles/opinion/2008/09/22/should-third-party-candidates-like-ralph-nader-bob-barr-and-cynthia-mckinney-be-included-in-the-presidential-debates.html

What do you think?!

i believe than any candidate who has a possibility at winning the presidency should be invited to debate and whether they choose to do so or not is up to them

i think third party candidates should get there shot, too. they don't get the media coverage that the two major party candidates get and i believe they need a forum to present their plans, also.

I understand that they should have their say, but by the same token nobody's going to vote for them, and the media would be wasting time and money
As much as I would love Ron Paul to win, He's not going to :(

hahahh
i believe it would be okay to let them present their ideas
however i dont think they should be given as much media coverage as the major party candidates

I don't think it would really make any difference at all if they debated with Obama and McCain. I think people would just be confused and like not even watch their segments.

i don't think we should add so many people, otherwise the debates would go on for days. i think only the individuals with enough state votes to actually have a chance at winning should debate.

Despite the fact that it really wouldn't make a difference, they should still have the chance to say their ideas. They deffinatly shouldn't get as much media time, but still some.

i think anyone running should be allowed to be in the presidential debates, even if they are a 3rd party candidate. they might have some realy good ideas, and they will never be heard since they aren't in the debates and such. i think the fact that they arent in the debates is completely unfair and they should be able to participate too.

Third-party candidates should get some debate time. Yes the debates should focus on the two major candidates but the little guys deserve to speak their minds and state their ideas.

I think the third-party candidates would bring up some controversial topics that neither the two major candidates would want to talk about, so it would make for an interesting debate.

I think that if the third party candidates would like to be in the debate, they should be able to, because they are running for president of the U.S. just like the two major party candidates. It would be a good chance for the candidates to get their ideas out to the public, which is usually their main goal.
