76 year old arrested for 73rd time...KITSB

New York Woman, 76, Arrested for 73rd Time When Wallet Disappears

On October 15, 'Katherine Kelly'(who has gone by 36 other aliases) was arrested for charges on stealing a police decoy wallet in a supermarket.Undercover police say they saw her attempting to steal from several other people in the market.
An investigation is underway to find the woman's true identity. Asked if he thought Kelly was mentally disturbed, Neilson replied, "That's something we're going to find out."
The majority of her arrests have been in  in Brooklyn, Golden said, with some in Manhattan and in Suffolk County, on Long Island. These arrests have resulted in at least 16 convictions.
Her trail will be held on November 17,2008.

When is enough, enough?
If she does turn out to be mentally disturbed should she be punished? If so, should her sentenced be as harsh?
What are you general opinions on this topic

first they should find out her true name, and 73 times being arrested. i think that is too many times to be arrested. she should most def be put in a mental hospital.

this woman obviously needs help. i don't think putting her in jail is going to do anything as she's been there many times before. she needs psychological counseling, possibly a mental hospital, but something that will help her.

If their is something mentally wrong with her then she needs to be put in a mental institution.

I think that punishment is meant to teach people what is socially acceptable, and it's obviously not working for her. I think she should just be put in a mental hospital...
