Moosemist-Atheists get ticket to ride with 'No God' ad campaign on sides...

The sides of some of London's red buses will soon carry ads asserting there is "probably no God," as nonbelievers fight what they say is the preferential treatment given to religion in British society.

Should these ads be allowed? Should any religious ads be allowed?

I'm an atheist. But I don't think these ads should be allowed. No adds should be allowed. Be religious (or whatever you choose to believe) on your own time. Leave the rest of society out of it.

agreed with becca. religion is personal and you should not subject anyone to what you do or don't believe in, and same goes for the other side.

clothing ads, make up ads, movie ads are all fine.
but no religious ads.

I agree with Becca. There is no need for any religious ads. Religion belongs in the churches and at home.

what is the point of advertising this? do they think it will really have an effect on what people personally believe for themselves. its a waste of time and it shouldnt be done. no religious advertisments for that matter.

I have an article about an atheist group in Colorado paying to put up billboards this holiday season that say "Don't believe in God? You are not alone." So it's starting to gain momentum. I'm against any religious ads though. Don't force your beliefs on others.

I hadn't seen the picture until now, thats a silly and pointless ad.

Like I said. None of any kind. Religion (or lack there of) is your personal businesss and not the world's. People really don't care what anyone does on their personal holy day.

I think that if someone can be convinced through an ad on a bus that their god doesnt exist then their faith probably wasnt that strong anyway so whatever. and it looks kinda like a joke not like something that serious

I don't see the point of these religious or non religious ads. Then again, i don't see the point of any advertisments. make up, celebrities, clothes, etc are just as pointless

i actually kind of like the ad. i think its pretty funny, but i can understand also within our society today that these billboards would not be accepted. So i don't mind either way.

i don't think this ad should be aloud, or any other kind of religious ad, because you have the right to believe in what you want.

If pro-religious signs are allowed, anti-religious signs should be allowed too. Where is the freedom of speech and expression, after all?

This is England, not the United States of America. There is no First Amendment guarantee.

However after all the "God Saves" ads and such, this ad is somewhat of a relief to see.

I don't see what the problem is. Aren't we always saying on here that people are entitled to believe in whatever they want to believe in? I think it is quite funny too

I think that the money could be spent on better things, but if someone wants to by that advertising space I say let them. I would actually prefer this to an ad that is trying to sell me something. At least this one is funny

I don't know why we care so much. It is just an ad, but if it gets you all stirred up, there's nothing I can do.

I agree that it really isn't a big deal.  But I think its tacky for churches to have ads and in turn it has to be tacky for my beliefs to have ads.  The ads don't bother me personally.  And when I see a religious ad I don't get upset, I just think it will save alot of grief if we just don't allow ads of any personal belief/implication.
