Vice president Cheney was asked when Guantanamo Bay can be "responsibly" shut down. "Well, I think that that would come with the end of the war on terror," he told ABC. And when is that? "Well, nobody knows," Cheney said. "Nobody can specify that."

Cheney also said he helped authorize interrogation methods including a forced interrogation method that simulates drowning known as waterboarding. "I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency in effect came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn't do," Cheney said.

When do you think Guantanamo Bay should be closed, if ever?

I think Guantanamo Bay needs to be shut down now. There are a lot more cruel torture methods going on at Guantanamo than water boarding. There is a documentary called Taxi to the Dark Side that really shows the cruelty going on there. I couldn't believe the things U.S. troops were doing to the prisoners there. And there is no proof linking 97% of the prisoners to terrorism.

i agree it should be shut down. taxi to the dark side is a real eye opener. iw as shocked at how u.s. troops were treating the prisoners. Guantanamo Bay needs to be shut down

i believe the bay needs to be better regulated with how the troops treat the prisoners, but at the same time if those people are holding keys to information regarding our NATIONS security i believe that any means are need to get that and possibly save thousands, if not millions of lives.

just shut it down... its so terrible what they are doing to the prisoners... so just end it. cuzz its just not right.

Guantanamo is bad. What Bush's administration has done is bad. I agree that terrorism is not a good thing, but neither is holding people without evidence and submitting them to torture.

agreed. Even if we have proof, not a huge fan of torture
