I dont think that the United States should be concerned for ourselves because there are no major threats. The only concern should be the threats toward Isreal from Iran. I doubt that Iran will use its new missle capabilities anytime soon but it is good to be aware of what they are capable of.

Should the US be worried, a little yes. With each military progress Iran achieves you do have to worry. should Israel be more worried than we are, yes.  besides I've been reading up on it and their comparing the technology Iran used to that of Sputnik from 1957.  so congrats Iran for doing something we've been capable of doing for 50+ years, real groundbreaking work! evileye

It's hard to say whether Iran has launched the satellite Omid for purely peaceful purposes or to develop missile delivery capability. The reports said the Omid was equipped with experimental satellite control devices and power supply systems designed for gathering information and testing equipment. And Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, insisted the country's new satellite was for "peaceful purposes" but nonetheless the group (Russia, US, China, France, Germany and Britain) has offered Iran incentivies to suspend its uranium enrichment and enter into talks on its nuclear program. So whether or not this satellite was for purely research purposes, actions by the US and the UN Security Council show that they are concerned.

I think we should just keep an eye on what Iran is doing with the satellite.  I would love to believe that they are using it for "technological, agricultural, and economic projects".  But there should still be concern that they will use it as a means of attack on other countries besides our own.

I agree with Monica, this shouldnt be to much of a problem, we simple need to keep a eye on that they are doing. I do think however that other countries should be more concerned with this.

no the U.S. should not been concerned with Irans missile capabilities because if they decide to use that technology to attack the United States then all they would succeed in doing is increasing support of a military action against Iran.

i agree with couple of the past statements above..
we should keep watch over what they're doing..

it's nice for iran to finally achieve that kind of technological process
but i'd still be a little concerned..cause we REALLY don't know what
they might use it for.

well i will tell you this much if they do decide to use thier new technology as a weapon and attack the United States then the Untied States Marine Corps is more than willing to go over there and teach them how to use it properly

i dont know if this is a huge deal. lots of countries have satellite technology. also, this satellitle launch is something that russia and the US did in the late 50's and early 60's. Its not that great of an accomplishment if you think about it. Sure though, the US should at least be a little cautious of what Iran is doing with their satellites though.
