Desperation, smuggling the back drop to migrant tragedy

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/03/31/libya.migrants.plight/index.html

Libya has long been a country of destination for migrants from rest of Africa Many try to find work in industries such as constructionOther migrants attempt to move on to Europe, with Italy a common destinationStrict border controls often prompt migrants to take other dangerous routes

What are your opinions on this issue?

well it sucks for those who died off the Libyan coast, but this happens here all the time. All those people immigrating illegally from the Caribbean so its not like this is a new issue. They're under the impression they'll get a better life, I'm happy Italy is fighting this illegal immigration.  oh well I don't care for Libya, ruled by a dictator, they can do what for these people. deport or not deport.
