What Obama/ Biden are saying about immigration

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/04/10/navarrette.immigration/index.html

Do they agree? NO

SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) -- The Obama administration's stance on immigration reform is like a never-ending telenovela with multiple plot twists --sometimes more than one in the same news cycle.

One minute the administration is saying it's going to push for immigration reform this year; the next, the message is that it won't push that hard.

According to an article in Wednesday's New York Times, President Obama plans to begin addressing the country's immigration system this year, and those plans will include looking for a path for illegal immigrants to become legal.

Ruben Navarrette: Obama sending mixed signals on immigration He says president needs to convince Joe Biden that it's a good issue to push Navarrette: Tough economy doesn't mean immigration reform is impossible Obama has lots of arguments he could use to make the case, he says

What are your opinions on this??

its funny how Biden is the champion of the bluecollar worker, union man. I think immigration reform in the time when the unemployment rate for US citizens is so high is very bad timing.  Yes those illegal immigrants are taking poor jobs, but those unemployed Americans are going to feel they have to compete with those new citizens.  And some illegals work for lower wages, because they don't have a union or don't have the right of a citizen to complain for higher wages, imagine if they get that right.
