Strip Club Field Trip

HAMILTON, Ohio-A school spokesman said a southwest Ohio teacher has resigned after acknowledging she accompanied four female students to a male strip club.

Butler Tech school district spokesman Bill Solazzo said the 47-year-old teacher resigned Thursday.

He said the teacher told Edgewood High School administrators that the students, all cheerleaders, asked her to take them to the bar in February.

The teacher told school officials in an e-mail that she got permission from the parents of the 17- and 18-year-olds to bring them to the club.

The teacher taught marketing at the school and previously served as a coach for the district's eighth-grade cheerleaders.

Hah, I just can't believe this actually happened...
So, because they had parental consent, does that justify the morality of the teacher's actions?

no it does not justify the morality of the teacher's actions. What a sick woman! Wonder why the parents consented...or did the kids fake their parents' signatures? Because what parent would consent to having a teacher take their daughters to a strip club? It's a good thing she resigned.

I think this makes me parents look even more stupid than the teacher!
I dont understand what the justification is....

As in, does the fact that the teacher got the parent's approval make this any less wrong?

if there was nothing legally wrong with what this person did then i dont think there is a problem. everyone was consenting. its not a big deal, there is no question of morality here

But the teachers brought minors into a strip club
I mean, that's just flat out illegal

i agree with jamie, if there was consent nothing is wrong. people cant go living their lives trying to prove their morals to everybody else.

it is the clubs responsibility to regulate who comes in, not the coach

But during school hours the students become the teacher's responsibility, and she should know better than to take them into a strip club.
I mean, what educational purpose does that serve anyway?

There isnt one! And yes the teacher is accountable but the parents are dumb for giving permission.

Well for a field trip isn't there sort of rule where they have to get the administrator's approval before taking people on a field trip.

Even though she quit her job, so there has to be some morality issues on her part.

but it is not her responsibility nevertheless. and what education purpose does the honor society serve going to camelot? some field trips are simply for the pleasure or the experience of the activity.

Legally, I think the teacher could get away with it for having parental consent, but the club will get in trouble for letting the 17 year olds in...morally, the teacher and the club were wrong. The teacher shouldn't have even asked for parental consent. If the parents are ok with their kids going to a strip club, they can take them themselves.

That's irrelevant.
The Honor Society earns that leisure, how on earth do you earn going to a strip club?
It's just wrong on so many levels

i just feel there are no legit grounds for the field trip.
Mrs. Cav always says
"dog bites man" isnt news
"man bites dog" is.
If a bunch of 17 and 18 year old girls went to a stip club with parental conesnt who cares? the fact that a TEACHER of theirs took them is bizzare.

but bizarre doesnt make it immoral, i think the teacher should do what the teacher thinks is appropriate. even if its different from what you or other people believe a teacher should or shouldnt do, doesnt mean that its the law
