Fallen Hero Receives Medal Of Honor

Fallen hero receives Medal of Honor

Fallen hero receives Medal of Honor

Sgt. Jared Monti always had the instinct to help other people, his friends and family say. It was that instinct that drove him to try three times to save a young private injured by Taliban firefighters. On his final attempt, Monti was mortally wounded. In his last moments, Monti asked his comrades to tell his family he loved them. His family today will accept the Medal of Honor on behalf of the fallen hero.aww

Would You go into the Army?

Would you Risk Your life For a Fallen Comrade?

No i would never go into the army because i believe what they do is murder. Only because i do not believe in violence or war.

While I support our troops and respect those individuals who DO decide to enlist in the Armed Forces, I personally would never join if given the choice. I do not believe in war and I have seen some of our family friends return from service as completely different people--which in this case, was not better.

Like I said, I respect and support the army and all other branches of the United States' armed forces, but I do not see the benefits of it FOR ME.

Ok well first of all i'd like to point out that it's not only the army that defends our country. There's also the air force, marines, navy, and coast guard. So the correct question would be would you join the military? If it ever got to the point where i really had no future then yes, becuase i would need a source to support myself and the military is a great way of giving people an opportunity to do something better with their life. And yes I would DEFINITELY risk my life for a fellow comrade becuase you do NOT leave your men or women behind. Not only that but i do not belive what they do is murder by any means what so ever. Yes people are dying but guess what? Freedom is not free and it never has been and it never will be. That's honestly just the cold hard truth. And if it means that these brave men and women who are risking their lives for me to have the freedom i do, or the freedom for some of you to say you don't support them well that's fine but your the ones getting to sleep in your bed tonight as opposed to sleeping on the field with bombs going off around you! I truly wish that the world could eventually get to a eutopian state but im also a realist and i know that, that can never happen when there will always be one person in the world to breed hate. So i hate the fact that war has to hapen because i know how hard it is for the families who have lost a loved one and i know first hand what it's like to be scared for some one you care about who is in the military. But completely support what they do for me and i am really thankful that we have people in our country willing to risk their lives for our saftey. This man deserves the medal of honor. He is a TRUE hero.

I'm not even gunna lie, I would NEVER, EVER EVER join the military if given the chance. I don't believe in submitting myself to be controlled by the government, and I don't think I could ever kill another human being (assuming I was deployed for action). But i wouldn't make it through boot camp anyways.  Though I commend Sgt. Monti for his actions, I dont think I could risk my life for a fellow comrade...I think I could only risk my life for family or someone I love very very much. Though it seems a lil selfish, I have plans for my life, which I wouldnt give up to possibly save another life, at the risk of my own.

i fully support our troops and the war right now. i do believe that it is sometimes necessary to go to war, and if i were ever to go into the army, navy, etc. yes i would risk my life for a fellow soldier, i would gladly give my life for the freedom of my country and the people who live here. i don't think i would ever actually join the army but if i were to, then yes i would because i believe in our country and everything it stands for. and i am so proud to be an American and i love the soldiers and everything they have done, are doing, and will do.

I personally would never join the military. I really could never live with myself if I had killed another human being. I dont support the "war on terror" but i really support the troops. I respect every soilder that was gone to war, is in the war, or will be in the war. Going to war takes a strong person that really loves america. Freedom isnt free and there will always be a price to pay.

If my country needed me, I would join the military without a second thought. I would die to give vernonica, bridget and alison the right to come on these board and post about how they would never join the military. Our freedoms must be protected. God bless the U.S. Army and all its branches.

My dad was in the army for many years when I was younger. It was hard dealing with him gone&I always said that I would not go into the military. I would not be able to be away from the people I care about for so long&I do not agree with what the whole overseas thing. Yes, they are fighting for our country but too many innocent people are dying. Sometimes it seems like we are included in fights that do not even involve us, all because we want to look like we are this really powerful nation. That may be true, but we do not have the equipment or money to just be throwing away on a fight that seems endless.

I think its awesome that the soldier tried to save his comrade's life. I would join the military in an instant if there was a war going on and my country needed more troops. I like to say i would give my life trying to save another of my comrades, but i really don't know if i would have the courage until the moment came. I hope i do hav the courage, if that moment ever does come around.

What an unbelievable soldier. Three times risking his life for another. I definitely would join the military given that I felt it necessary that I must be there. I guess I could have the same courage that man did, its just I would really need to be in the moment. I can only pray to have that sort of courage.
