Terrorists call for "death of Australia"

A TERRORIST who helped plan July's attacks on two Jakarta hotels calls for the destruction of Australia in a video that shows the suicide bombers enjoying a picnic outside one of their targets.

The video, recorded less than three weeks before the attacks that killed seven, including three Australians, was recovered from a laptop seized in the police raid that killed terrorist mastermind Noordin Mohammed Top earlier this month.

The video, believed to be shot by Noordin henchman Saifuddin Jaelani, shows suicide bombers Nana Ikhwan Maulana and Dani Dwi Permana picnicking in a park across the road from the the Ritz-Carlton.

"This is our target," Nana tells the camera.

"Destroy America, destroy Australia, destroy Indonesia," Jaelani says.

Dani, just 18 years old, says: "This is not suicide. This is what our enemies fear.

"It is an obligation for all. Those who do not execute this obligation are sinners."

okay we need to seriously do something about all of these terrorists. when we find them, we just need to shoot them. everyone knows the truth, we can watch the tape. they deserve to die, them and all those who support them. this isnt a matter that we can simply just talk over, they want to destroy us and other countries. there should be no trial, no court, no nothing, just the ending of terrorists and everything they believe in.

Unfortunately, certain radical factions have taken the Qu'ran and used it to justify their terrorist acts. Jaquelynn, there are several issues with that:
1. How would you distinguish between alleged "terrorists" and innocent civilians?
2. The United Nations, and the world as a whole for that matter, would not stand for such atrocities.
3. The United States is supposed to be above such cruelty, which is why the waterboarding allegations (at Guantanamo Bay) were so shocking.
*Personal opinion*4. I know that many people disagree with this, but I don't think anyone deserves to die, regardless of their crimes.

There are many more issues with this, but these are just a couple key ones I could think of.

Even though they obviously are crazy, hateful people we still have to give them a trial. That would completely go against everything American. They may want to destroy us, but we cannot sink to a lower level and just say, oh well since we don't like them they don't get a trial.

I completely agree with jaquelynn16. Can't say it much better. We are in a war against terrorism. In World War 2, did America take all the Japs and Germans and give them a trial on the battlefield? NO! We just shot them and bombed them, then moved on. And since we are in a war with the terrorists, they should not get a trial either. They are the enemy, and for that, must be killed. In all other respects, i believe that all people should get a trial, it is a big part of America, but not when we are in a war with them. And to jallen: i don't care who you are, but if you are an enemy of America and contain vital information, we will extract that information by any means necessary, especially if it means possibly saving American lives. And that includes waterboarding. And as i have said before, there IS NO SUCH THING AS MODERATE MUSLIMS! They cannot just ignore a section of the Koran, namely the 9th Sura. If the Koran calls for them to fight and kill the disbelievers, and they don't, then obviously they are not truly following their religion. Therefore, there are only 2 kinds of muslims: radical muslims, and non-practicing Muslims. No middle zone, clearly Black and White.

Well terrorist aren't soldiers so they should not be treated like them either. And about water boarding, I think its fine with me. Terrorists post videos of beheadings and IED's while we get criticized for water boarding. Oh and btw Islam is no where close to a peaceful religion.

There certainly are "moderate Muslims", as evidenced by the fact that there are thousands of mosques within the United States alone (in which Muslims worship, and DO NOT kill anyone, I might add).

As for waterboarding, I'm not going to get into whether its unethical or not, but I'd just like to point this out: If we as Americans are torturing our prisoners of war, how are we "better" than all our enemies who we reprimand and get the UN to impose sanctions upon? Usually, you hear about how we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Bush's interpretation that torture outside of US borders may or may not be constitutional, but regardless, I just find it a bit hypocritical.

Waterboarding, I might add, has been condemned by US leaders for DECADES now. Soldiers in Vietnam were prosecuted for practicing this method of torture. Again, I'm not going to delve into whether or not this is ethical or not, but I just hate seeing my country turn away from the values which have made it so great.

The term "moderate muslim" is an oxymoron. Moderate Muslim=not killing or attacking infidels=not following Koran=NON-PRACTICING. And what about all the mosques in America? They are still non practicing. If they were true followers of islam, they would already be waging holy jihad with America. In which case we would have to SHOOT THEM, NOT GIVE THEM A TRIAL. And about waterboarding: regardless of the motives or ethics of it, one thing always trumps everything else: national security. If we believe that someone is threatening our safety, then regardless of the means necessary, we must find out that information. Not spoon feed them off of a silver platter and ask nicely for them to disclose their secrets.

Yea seriously. It just puzzles me how someone could hate a nation so much and not even been there themselves to see just how awesome it might be.
