Student may get suspended for a haircut

Patrick Gonzales of Woodland Hills Middle School may face an in-school suspension for having a picture of San Antonio Spur's forward Matt Bonner shaved into the back of his head.

Do you think he deserves this? Should he be allowed to have his hair like this?

If it' s a public school and his haircut isn't offending anyone then the kid should not be suspended.

I don't see what's so bad about having someone shaved into your head. It looks cool and it is not offending any of the students. Like Korryne said, it's art.

School officials need to become more lenient when it comes to students and expression. I do not see how this is punishable.

If theres no rule requiring uniform haircuts they arent allowed to punish him. You can enforce a rule that doesnt exist just because you dont like the action

I think thats a pretty wild haircut but i don't think he should be suspended for it, that is just dumb.

I think that they shouldnt suspend him and just have maybe given him a warning.

I'm gonna go with he should be required to cut his hair. His hair is distracting on purpose. The intent of the elaborate haircut was to draw attention to how much he loves that player, and its probably very distracting for middle school students in class.

You have to follow the rules of school while you're there, and if the school prohibits "distractions" then this can, arguably, be grounds for suspension.

If this kid had been warned before about things like this then he should be suspended, but if not leave him alone.

I don't think they should suspend him, that is a little extreme. He should just be warned.

I dont see how this is punishable. If there is no dress code against this then he should be left alone. They should give him a warning.
