LA school officials accused in plot to steal thousands of textbooks

2 questions: How could anyone at the schools miss over 7000 missing books? Also, why would paid school officials accept bribes and steal books from people? That's just wrong.

twelve los angeles county stole thousands of school textbooks to sell to a buyer who paid them bribes. the buyer allegedly paid $200,000 in bribes. the thefts occurred in the financially struggling school districts in los angeles. the employees were paid up to $47,000 for the two year long scheme. in all over 7,000 textbooks were stolen from the school districts.

I'm glad those workers were indicted, that's terrible to steal books from schools when books only benefit students and especially since the books were taken from a school district that already has financial problems.

It would be interesting to find out what they did with the textbooks. After stealing all them and their purpose.

I wonder what they decided to do with the textbooks after stealing them. And I don't understand why teachers accepted bribes, maybe they wanted more money.

first of all, who needs that many books? second of all, why take them from schools that are struggleing financially?
