Land Rover runs down three motorcycles

Sunday afternoon when a man driving his wife and their 2-year-old daughter in a Range Rover on Manhattan's West Side Highway struck a motorcycle, which had slowed in front of his SUV.When Alexian Lien, the SUV driver, pulled to a stop, other bikers -- part of a group called Hollywood Stuntz -- surrounded the vehicle, hit it and spiked its tires, police said.Lien then pulled away, plowing into three more bikers, including Edwin Mieses, who was critically injured."My husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family," she said.

Seriously, the van was not being attacked at all. It was being surrounded. Surrounding =/= attacking.

I believe this man was justified in what he did. He needed to take action to protect his family. These motorcyclists where clearly threatening him and his family, which promted him to take the action he felt was appropriate.

This man had no other way to defend his self other than runnning over the men that were trying to hurt his family

This article has been a major headline all across the news. From watching the video, you can tell both parties are at fault though the bikers are mainly to blame. First with the bikers getting angry and attacking the car but also with Lien's decision to drive over other innocent bikers.

The man had to protect his family, clearly the bikers were threatening him. From the video it is clear that the bikers were furious and the man had to do something.. He couldn't just allow them to do that.

I think that the driver of the SUV was justified in his actions. I would have also driven away to protect my family from motorcycle thugs.

I don't think they were justified. Yes, they were being surrounded, but running people over only to stop right after?

I feel that he was trying to protect his family in a dnagerous situation, and these motorcyclists were in the wrong.

I think the driver had every right to protect himself and his family. And the motorcycle gang made some bad decisions and made a bad name for a lot of riders all over the country.

I do believe he did the right thing in protecting his family. I just wish this wouldn't have to happen at all though.

i believe that what he did was not wrong and because that the motorcyclists were threatening them he did what he had to for his family
