Role reversal: Dudes replace pinup girl on motorcycle

The "girl on bike" is a familiar trope in the motorcycle world, which is why the editor of American motorcycle blog Asphalt & Rubber didn't pay much attention last year when images surfaced of a woman draped across the latest Ducati.

But when the dealership responsible for the sexy images re-created them using men -- all bulging muscles and body hair, farmers' tans and booty shorts -- they caught his attention.

"The conversation I really wanted to have is if you can put a girl on a bike, you should put a guy on a bike. And, if that looks silly to you, (then) you should rethink the other," said Jensen Beeler, editor of Asphalt & Rubber.

What do you think? Advertising is a huge part of our society and the person in it definitely makes a difference. What if ad's started swapping the genders in their ads but had them do the same poses, if it looks bad with one gender should they rethink doing it with the other gender?

What a creative idea! Really brings perspective to the shots!

i think its just a funny spoof on the same old pin-up girl motorcycle pictures we have all seen. i think the reason why they did this is just because they can. it has no nudity and is just a good humored gag

I actually laughed. It's nice to know people still have a sense of humor.

These photos really show how media and advertising degrade women by using them as revealing sex symbols to market products. The role reversal of these photos really depicts gender roles within media, illustrating the difference between how women are used in advertisements compared to men who are often seen as muscular and tough, especially in car ads.

These ads with the men just highlights how ridiculous these types of ads are! Using females in ads is obviously an effective marketing tool because advertisers have utilized it again and again. I think the ads featuring scantily clad women are very degrading and just emphasising the misogynistic society we live in. However, I think as long as these types of ad bring a profit, they will not go away any time soon.

Well our society has been built around the stereotype of "hot women on an automobile" and when we see a man do it's just outrageous!
