It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's a Bird Crashing into a Plane! Some Super Remedies Various Airports are Trying....

Birds crashing into planes is a problem.  Obviously.  So some airports are trying some innovative approaches to discourage the presence of birds:

According to a report by the Federal Aviation Administration, the number of bird strikes has increased nearly six-fold since 1990 to a record 10,343 in 2012.

This is blamed on four factors. There are larger populations of some of the birds responsible - for instance, there are twice as many Canada geese in North America now as there were in 1990. And many birds find airports to be attractive habitats.

These are all pretty interesting, but i find the egg addling to be the saddest...I realize it has a purpose but killing them seems a little harsh

Its hard becuase you cant make a machine that weighs tons, to manuever around these animals... I wish that the birds knew that they need to get the heck out of the way.
