COLLEGE!!!!

U.S. News and World Report compiles comprehensive rankings of colleges (and all sorts of other things) on a very broad categorical spectrum ("A+ Schools for B Students," for instance).  Check them out here: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges

How are you making your college decision?  What's your first choice of schools? If you're beginning at a community college, where would you like to transfer thereafter? Why?   Any concerns/questions/issues you are or will be exploring before you decide where you'll attend?

I'm making my college decisions based on cost and my desire to experience life away from home! I am hoping to attend school in San Francisco so I'm hoping to go to either University of San Francisco or San Francisco State. I am very worried about the price of college and also being in an area where I know no one.

I'm making my decisions based on cost and major choice. I plan on majoring in "Creative Producing" and Business for film and there are two JC's (OCC and Saddleback) that offer these programs that help a student with my desire majors to later transfer to Chapman or USC Film Schools. But I will save $160,000 my first two years!

I'm basing my decision on the relative closeness to home, the price, whether or not I can receive a scholarship of any kind, and whether or not it's a private college. Right now my top choice is Biola and pursuing a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in music performance and religious studies. This way if I'm not able to find a job relating to my major after college in the public schools or a private business I can also start looking into the private school system. Although Biola is my first choice, I do have a quite drastic fallback of St. Xavier University in Illinois (of which I have been accepted and offered a scholarship).

I'm making my decision on what the college can offer me. I'm really interested in being a flight attendant and OCC has a program for the field so im going there. since its a community college, i want to transfer to a UC that has a program for airline. Its also cheaper to go to a community college first and i can explore other options if I dont want to major in the airline business.

I am basing my decision off of price, distance from home and if I obtain any scholarships. I hope to attend Oregon State, Colorado State or maybe UCSB. I'm still waiting to hear back from a few schools though. I am hoping to major in something related to health sciences, but I am still unsure of which specific major.

I'm basing my college decision mainly on cost and location. I don't really have a first choice in particular, but I'm hoping I can attend San Diego State or one of the three UC schools I applied to.
