Sunshine Cavalluzzi: Mama of the three smartest, funniest, and all-around most fabulous (and fabulously good-looking!!) children on the planet: Lucy (who's almost nine and a Brookhaven third grader), JD (who just turned seven and is in first grade at Brookhaven), and Micah (who is four and a half and a Wagner preschooler) and an EDHS grad from the famous class of '93. I'm proud to have coached the ROCK STAR, frequent Orange County CHAMPION EDHS Mock Trial team for the twelve years and to be coming back this year after a two-year hiatus to do so again! I'm a UCSD grad (Go Fightin' Tritons!) and I spent a semester in London (the best thing I did in college - you ALL should study abroad!!).
I really really believe in Gandhi's idea that "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" and Margaret Mead's reminder to "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
and I LOVE: my family, my amazing circle of friends and keeping up with them on Facebook, EDHS, Mock Trial, yummy food, traveling, swimming, THE BEACH, being a soccer mom, good quotes, good books...especially Harry Potter and To Kill A Mockingbird (Lucy's middle name is Harper after Harper Lee and Micah's middle name is Atticus), funny and fabulous TV (The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Jeopardy!, The West Wing, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Top Chef, The Newsroom....), the awesometastic Disney cruise I took with my family two summers ago, and active, energetic, thoughtful, polite, and ongoing discussions about INTERESTING THINGS like CONTEMPORARY WORLD AFFAIRS!! :)
In terms of my favorite kinds of news, I (obviously) love politics and political news, college basketball [(GO DUKE!) - though I watch a lot less than I used to before I had kids; less, alas, with the arrival of each subsequent MiniCav :)], stories about people who completely defy the conventions with which they were raised, and the huge impact of small actions...the ways people decide to create change locally and globally.
I really love teaching this class and am VERY MUCH looking forward to this semester and your FANTASTIC contributions!!!

My name is Ameen Hussaini and I don't really do anything too interesting in my spare time, mostly just surfing the internet on sites like Reddit, and watching Netflix. I used to practice Karate a lot but not too much anymore. I love doing things like public speaking and having discussions about philosophy and religion. I like to learn for the most part. I get most of my news from Reddit and the news, but I tend not to watch it too much because it's pretty depressing.

My name is Taylor Twomey and I'm a senior here.. I play on varsity soccer and that takes up the majority of my life right now. When I am free I babysit and hangout with my friends. My favorite kind of news is the newspaper because it has so much information and my parents have always taught me to be educated with the newspaper and what is going on in the world through the Newspaper.
JT Gaumer: I am a 4 year varsity aquatics athlete. I am a midle child of 3, my sister is in 7th grade at Tuffree and my brother is a Marine NCO down in Camp Pendleton. I am extremely excited for this class.
Chris Cai: Steam gamer who plays CSGO and TF2 on his own time. Enjoys hanging out with his neighborhood friends and make food, like a professional chef. Has 1 brother and 3 sisters, youngest of the bunch, and is one of two family members of his generation to be born in America, first being his oldest sister. A great son, brother, cousin, uncle, and best friend to have as your wingman on dates or personal chef if anyone is hungry. My favorite animal is a unicorn, wait what???
Should I ever watch the news, I would get my news off of YouTube, as videos become viral as soon as it becomes uploaded. After all, I do spend a lot of my time on the computer or tablet. And most of the time, I never watch the news, because 100% of every story is always negative, there's nothing positive like old man saves a couple from a house fire, or Olympic gold medalist donates 1 million dollars to end cancer for everyone, etc.

hi im kyndall. Music is what i love. I fill up my days with piano, guitar, singing, and acting. I want to go to Pepperdine and become a lawyer because i am kind of a nerd. I like going to the gym to get swoll because my backs broken and i cant cheer anymore. UMMMMMMMM i like to read and write. Pretty music anything having to do with poetry and songwriting. I have two older brothers. Theyr're pretty cool. I like getting my news from the internet.

Nick Gomes: Class of 2014 of Eldorado High school. I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with friends. I have traveled to many parts of the world including, Germany, Japan, India, Mexico, Canada, Venice, and Italy. I also have visited many of the United States. I enjoy listening to music, especially Santana. My favorite movie series is Star Wars and favorite t.v. show is breaking bad . I have no brothers or sisters but many cousins, aunt, and uncles.

I have two older brothers that have both attended edhs but have now graduated. I am also in Link Crew and CSF this year. I find my news from the internet or from a newspaper. I like news from all parts and areas of the world and news that keeps me up to date.

Olivia Yoon: of AUTHENTIC CLASS of 2014 :D I was born in Seoul, Korea, and came to California in 2008. My points of interests are fashion and music. I love alternative and indie music. I like watching comedy movies. I love the two great movies recently watched: FROZEN and the AWKWARD MOMENTS. I do not watch or read news often, so most of the times I hear the news from my friends or family members or Facebook updates. I am looking forward to learn about the things that are happening around the world and become aware of CONTEMPORARY WORLD AFFAIRS.
John Skovira: I have lived in Placentia California for basically my whole life. I moved to New York for fifth grade and came back in sixth grade, I drove across the country both there and back. I was born and adopted from Fountain Valley hospital. I am full Chinese and both of my parents are white. I also have an adopted sister who is mexican. I really like ping pong, tennis, and music. After highschool, I plan to go to Mt.SAC community college to go through their EMT-Paramedic school program to become a paramedic. I am a Senior and I was born in 1996 on August 1st. My name is Cedric. I can make some killer oatmeal. I usually just play with my dogs in my spare time and eat food. I also like to listen to music. Dolphins are pretty cool too. I usually get all my news from the internet mostly from Yahoo and social networking. Whenever I check my email on Yahoo I read all of the news on the front page and it is very informational.
My name is Emma. I have three pets; a cat and a dog and a brother. I love all food, the only food I don't like is peanut butter. I hate peanut butter. I plan to attend Toni and Guy hair school after I graduate and take make up classes. My dream job is to be a Fashion Stylist in Beverly Hills or to work backstage at Fashion Shows doing model makeup. I like to read and sleep. The only shows I watch on TV are the news, American Horror Story, and Sons of Anarchy. I am currently obsessed with Quentin Tarantino movies. My name is Marcus Schwarz (aka the real Obama). I have a little sister that is turning 1 this month. My interests are in sport, music and watching movies mostly. I usually get my news information from the news channels on TV.
I'm a very good cook. I can cook minute rice in 58 seconds. I can make a mean bowl of cereal.
My hobbies include, playing soccer, cooking good meals, running the free world.
I'm Seriena, i LOVE food. I have three sibling, 1 year old, 9, and 11. In my spare time i love reading and watching movies. I don't watch or read much news but when I do its from the newspaper.
Phil Song: I am a small nationalistic Korean boy with liberal but firm Christian beliefs. I move a lot and I haven't done anything incredibly significant in my life yet but have lots of family members who have. I am a junior class of 2015 and I want to go to UCLA. I play many sports and the piano. I help children with disabilities.I like to write (I wrote half a novel before my computer broke) and want to be an author or social worker when I grow up and teach English in Korea for a couple of years. I plan to go to a decent UC college (hopefully) after high school with a philosophy/English/Psychology major, and study abroad in Korea for 6 months or an year, and just live a content life where I move a lot, experience lots of things, and just understand the world. I lived all over the LA metropolitan area (Burbank, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, and like 5 other places) and really like the area. I really want to do something for the Korean-American church community in this area as well. I like a variety of music (80s, rap, rock, pop, classical, K-Pop, hip-hop, and indie) and am fascinated by dancing/martial arts and whatever else is "hype" among Asian Americans IE fashion.
I personally believe in a Jimmy Hendrix quote which says: "The story of life is faster than the blink of an eye. The story of love, is hello and goodbye. Until we meet again". I also believe in a Charlie Chaplin quote about the Bible: "In the 17th chapter of Saint Luke it is written that the kingdom of God is within man. Not one man nor a group of men but in you YOU the people. The power to create machines, the power to create happiness, you YOU the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.". I finally believe in a Bruce Lee quote: "Be happy but never satisfied".
I love: My ideals, change, K-Pop, Facebook, Katalk, food, golf, ping-pong, food, books, the idea of college, travelling, sports, running/biking/hiking, the piano, Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 track engine, Samsung phones, the beliefs of others, expanding my mind, foreign languages and culture in general.
I like political news, a lot of things about sports, but most importantly, things about individuals who are willing to change anything for the better no matter what the odds.
Depending on the subject, I may love to learn or not want to at all.

My name is Garrett Eusebio, i run track at El Dorado, I also coach my 11 year old brothers basketball team. i enjoy watching Basketball, Go Miami heat! I am a Junior and i have no idea where i am going to college. i do not watch very much news because it usually just upsets me.
Hi!! My names Cassidy :) Im really shy and quiet so most people think i dont like them.... I promise i like all of you :) I have one younger brother and an older sister. And I have two dogs. I usually spend my time listening to music. Most of my friends go to brea so i hangout with them afterschool alot. Im excited to be in this class to learn more about the world and whats going on :) Five minutes of watching the news in the morning doesnt really inform me on all that much.
I am Timmy Ingle the Great. I am so intelligent, I school the school. I play basketball and run errday. I will be rich and famous and will make the world a better place. I like to socialize but sometimes maybe too much...
Daniel Nowak: A senior At El Dorado High school. Involved in several sports inside and out of Eldo such as soccer, track(110H, 300H, 4X1). I as well play several instruments, bass guitar and stand up bass, cello and dabble in the drums. I plan to major in Civil Engineering and would hope to use that degree to assist others. At the moment i am helping kids who are planning to join track, or who are already on a track team, in their training for season.
I find the correlations between religions and world affairs very interesting. Especially finding reasons on why people act, how the geography plays a role and the differences/similarities of the people involved.
I feel most comfortable out on the track, i love: figuring how things work, running, trying new foods, hanging out with friends, going anywhere with my girlfriend, and my family.
Types of news i like would be almost anything political, and anything doing with my favorite sport teams(Ducks, Liverpool, and Chicago Fire) no football.., and world news in general.
Hi as I'm sure you can see my name is Tanner Martinez. I am currently 18 and a senior at of course El Dorado High School. You will probably think that i am a pretty quiet or shy person however that is not really the case. In my spare time I enjoy working on and racing cars, skateboarding, listening to and playing music, and most importantly I love art and creating it. I am sure there is more to tell about me however for now this will do. I am currently employed and spending all of my earned money on buying another car. I like news concerning affairs as well as good news that actually relates to my life and the world i live in. A nice way that i enjoy getting this news from includes comic television shows such as the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.
