Fergalicious: 8 dead as Venezuela turmoil continues, leader asks for Obama's help

The turmoil in Venezuela has increased drastically as there have been 137 injuries and 8 more deaths in the Venezuelan protests. President Maduro of Venezuela has called out extra forces in armored vehicles to quell the disturbances in the cities even though many( but not all) of the protesters are promoting non-violence. Protesters claim that the pro-government vigilantes are the cause for the violence. In a surprise announcement, President  Maduro asked President Obama to enter into negotiations with Venezuelan officials to settle differences. Maduro, previously banned CNN crews from Venezuela but has now canceled that order.

Do you think the U.S. should step in? Why or why not? Do you think this is a humanitarian issue?
