Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport  Union have walked out for 48 hours over plans to close all ticket offices at a cost of 960 jobs.Transport for London said 50% of services were running compared to about 40% during the last walkout. The strike is due to end at 20:59 on Wednesday but disruption may continue into Thursday morning. The union and London Underground  have met more than 40 times through the arbitration service Acts since the last 48-hour strike in February, but talks broke down on Monday.LU has said it plans to run as many services as possible, supplemented extra bus and river services, but customers are advised to check their journey before they travel.

What do you think the city government should do about these protesters?

The city government should just let the protestors walkout and do whatever they want.

I feel like the governtment shouldn't do anything as long as the protests remain non-violent. If they start to get violent, then they should step in.

I believe that the government should intervene to meditate with the protesters. If the strike is continued, the customers will have inconvenience. If the strike is just suppressed, the protesters' dissatisfaction will rise even more.

I agree with Dan if they aren't being violent or breaking any laws the government should not intervene

If the protest is not violent the government should not be allowed to do anything. Yet if it becomes violent and presents a danger to other citizens something should be done to stop it.

The government shouldn't do anything until the protests get violent because as of right now its not hurting anyone.

The Government should just have emergency vehicle and personal on stand by while the protests goes on just in case of rioting or something.

The government should be on stand-by to react immediately if violence breaks out but unless that happens they have no business doing anything.

As long as the protesters are peaceful and don't become violent, nothing should be done. Government officials should have emergency personnel nearby and also be prepared for violence if the protests continue and seem to be heading that way.
