Michael Jackson's hologram: Creepy or cool? - Emma's random topic :-)))

Michael Jackson's hologram performed at the Billboard Awards last night. The spectral Jackson performed "Slave to the Rhythm," one of the singles from "Xscape," a new album of posthumously released Jackson music. He was accompanied by actual, physically present dancers. "It was either the most amazing thing ever -- or super creepy, depending on which side of the fence you were viewing it from." Many people found it to be weird and uncomfortable, but others thought it was awesome and exciting.

Do you think it is creepy or cool to see a hologram perform? Would you pay money for it? Who would you want to see as a hologram?

I think this is definitely kind of creepy however when they did this with Tupac I was ecstatic. When I think of Jackson's family members and loved ones I think about how weird and uncomfortable I'd feel. I think holograms are really cool but it's still kind of weird. I wouldn't pay to just go watch a hologram.

Holograms are the future. Instead of people in graves, why not make them a living hologram? But of course, you would have to program the AI for them.

It is very surprising in scientific way that how our technology enables us to do that. Yet people need to let it go. People die, and it is natural thing. I so would not pay for that.

I agree with eaturolive, in regards that people need to let go when people pass on, and I also wouldn't pay for this. I do, however, think it's really rad that technology is so advanced that we could actually do this.

I think its amazing that technology has made realistic holograms possible. It is pretty weird and i don't think i would pay money to go see one but it is definitely cool.

The future is now maaaan. Holograms are pretty cool, I thought the Michael Jackson hologram was pretty neat. I would like to have a hologram of Michael Caine, so he can be like Alfred.

I think holograms are insanely cool and it is awesome to be able to appreciate artists that have passed. However, I would never pay to see a hologram, if I am going to spend money, I want to see a real person.

I think that is really cool to the die-hard fans, but i don't think id pay money to see it. Especially since i am a singer, i feel as though i have a certain respect for artists and i would want to see someone live!

I think this is actually pretty cool if you are a fan of him and his music. I personally would never pay money to this this but I would definitely like to see Jimi if they could do that. I don't know about you but i think that would be pretty sweet. Maybe Morrison too..

I think that the idea of a hologram is cool. However fo me, it was a bit uncomfortable. Plus, I felt weird for his family, especially knowing how private his children are.

I am 100% against using holograms of the deceased, I think it is disrespectful to the dead and the families of the dead. I feel like it is a way that the people that own the rights to the music of the dead are just squeezing out more money out of them , plus it takes away the magic of seeing a living person put on a show. Even the creators of the Micheal Jackson hologram were against its use at the billboard music awards, but in court they lost against the people who wanted to put it on. Holograms of the living is okay IMO because they condone it and use it as a way to enhance their shows, but using a hologram on artists that have already passed is really dark and unnecessary. Let the dead rest.

I think it is kinda weird. Ive never seen a hologram of a dead person. This seems kinda off but also an advancement in technology.
