Mexico turns anti-cartel vigilantes into a police force-TRAIL MIX!

Around 450 men reportedly sworn in to new rural state police force, handing guns and uniforms to members of a vigilante movement formed to challenge Mexico's violent drug gangs. Some 100 new rural police officers then sang the national anthem at a formal swearing-in ceremony in the town square. The government later said 450 officers were sworn in.The militia has faced divisions among its leadership, but more than 3,300 out of an estimated 20,000 vigilantes have signed up to join the police force, officials said. The transition comes amid deep divisions within the militia, accusations that it is infiltrated by cartels and the recent arrest of one of its founders.Authorities have also found several cases of criminals posing as vigilantes.

Do you think this is a good idea for the country of mexico or do you think this will promt more drug related crimes and defiance?

I think that this is a good idea for Mexico. It will hopefully help prevent crimes, like batman.

This was definitely a good idea. Considering all the work the vigilantes have done, I do believe that with the right training they'll serve well for the Mexican police force. They've already done so much and they've actually been a great help even though they haven't always been credited.

It is a step for the country but they need to really check the people before allowing them to join, to make sure they are putting good people in these roles to stop the cartels

I think this will help with the cartel problem but i do think that it can get out of control and be dangerous.

i dont think that its a good idea because then if people band together they are basically starting their own gang. and thats just going to add to the violence

I think it is a good idea as long as they make sure all the men are trusted.

I think this is a good idea. They need to be careful though and make sure that criminals do not squeeze through the system by posing to be vigilantes.

i think this is a great idea to build up their police force, after all the cartels, in reality, are just very powerful bullies and can be taken out with the proper force and swiftness

I think it is a great idea, but it needs to be controlled so madness doesn't come about.

I think the idea comes from good intentions but I do not believe it will last and it won't make a difference. The government need to take more serious action if they want violence to go down.

I think this could be a good idea cause the men who swore themselves in are from the outside and they know things that cops don't. It's kind of like getting an undercover perspective but some cops may have their reservations about them.

This will most likely lower the rates of crime in mexico and turn out to be very beneficial for the country.

Hopefully this is a good idea for Mexico at the time, but I don't think it will last for a significant amount of time.

I think as long as they act moral this will be a good thing for Mexico. Mexico needs to clean itself up and have some law and order. The people should be able to live in a safer environment
