The Goths: Al Qaeda Branch Claims Responsibility for Charlie Hebdo Attack

Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the attacks in Paris last week. In a video, the group stated that Anwar al-Awlaki had masterminded the attack, an event that was years in the making. The group however, did not claim responsibility for the Kosher grocery store attack, but they did praise it. The commander of Al Qaeda, Nasr Ibn Ali al-Ansi, added that the deaths involved in the Kosher attacks were a blessing from Allah. In addition, since the attacks, it has been reported that 54 cases against people have been opened up in France for expressing support for terrorism.

Do you think Al Qaeda has any more plans of terror for France after the newest issue of the Charlie Hebdo magazine?

I believe Al Qaeda will always be making plans for some country. They are a terrorist organization. There is no way we can completely contain it, but we can oppose it. We can help others choose a better path than those of the terrorists.

I saw this on the news this morning and after they said the kosher store attack was a blessing I told my mom about how no religion and no God condones killing or pushes people toward it. I'm pretty sure Obama has said something like that already. I do think they have more plans and I think they'll always have plans since the Charlie Hebdo attacks was years in the making, I can only imagine what other attacks its taking them years to plan.

I think that Al Qaeda is always planning some sort of terror. We can never be sure who it is aiming towards, and when it will happen, that's what makes it so frighting.

Pretty much what everyone else said: Al Qaeda is always planning more. Terrorism is always hard to fight (and win) against simply because terrorists are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish their goals given that they are committed to their cause. Not only that, but they also are able to organize and carry out their attacks faster than a national government could because they really don't have to navigate through domestic/international affairs, paperwork, and act according to the laws that governments have to do.

As a terrorist organization, there is most likely no way we can completely contain them. If they are always making plans to spread terror we should be opposing them and helping others oppose the spread of terror.

Yes, I believe they do have plans. The way that the cartoon was drawn was disrespectful to the religion and was bound to offend the terrorists. Therefore, they probably have some more plans to intimidate up there sleeves. I hope the French government is making the necessary precautions for the possibility of another attack.

I believe that America has forgotten what it takes to win a war, and I fear that this administration is trying to downplay this. Whether or not the Obama administration wants to admit it, radical Islamic terrorists have declared war on the rest of the world (Infidels and moderate-Muslims alike). Therefore we are at war with the terrorists. Our oldest ally, France has said word for word, "We are at war with Radical Islamic terrorists." Both the French PM and the French-American Ambassador have said that. The only way to win anything is to put in a perfect effort. There was a time when if America and her allies was threatened or attacked, we would actually do something about it. Islamic terrorists do have plans for the west. We've always known that. Our mistake was celebrating the touchdown before we got into the end-zone. Their goal since before 9/11 and before the attack on France was to destroy the west because we don't believe what they believe. And in their twisted minds, that gives them the divine right to kill anyone who stands in their way, Muslim and Non-Muslim alike. It is our duty to stop them not to exact revenge, but to save lives.

I do believe that Al Qaeda is planing more terrorist attacks. I understand why they were offended by the cartoon in the magazine, however I streongly disagree with how they responded and im sure after the new cartoon that was published that they are still very angry.

Al Qaeda has always been unpredictable, and you never know when or where terrorism may strike. Because of the newest addition of charlie Hebdo the terrorist might feel as if France did not learn their lesson and more attacks may be coming, however there is not telling. As long as this group is around there will be terror, it just depends if they will continue to target France.
