Europe

Automatic rifles used in Januarys Paris attacks that killed 17 have been traced to a shop in Slovakia that sells deactivated weapons as movie props, it was reported on Wednesday.

The decommissioned weapons legally bought in Slovakia were reconverted to fire live ammunition a process that gun experts say can take as little as an hour to complete and used in the deadly attacks on a Kosher supermarket and the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo,French police reportedly believe.

i dont think it should be put under investigation. people can convert anything to be dangerous. the shop should not be blamed for what people do to their products after theyve been purchased

i think it should be put under investigation because why would they use decommissioned fire arms for movies when it could maybe still work and someone could get hurt and how do they get them?

I agree with both comments. Maybe there can be some rules or regulations the store has to follow when selling their products.

I'll have to agree with Christina here, they are a reputable business that has been in operation for awhile. However, because of the effortless nature of converting the guns, more regulations and monitoring need to occur to ensure an incident such as the one in France does not happen again.

I feel like they shouldn't investigate the shop because its not like the shop knew that the person would make it into a real weapon. Anything can be made into a weapon.

I think background checks are necessary if these guns are going to be sold. Anyone can take a gun and shoot someone but at least with background checks the store is showing effort to prevent the guns from falling into the wrong hands.

I think the shop should be investigated, it is a threat to society. To ensure people's safety, the police should look into how they are making the weapons.

Any weapon including large heavy guns can be bought by anyone 18 and carrying an ID.

I think they should investigate the shop to make sure they don't sell anything that can somehow turn into a dangerous weapon

although the firearms were "decommissioned" the process of un-welding a fireing pin on an assault rife is a rather easy process, so these "decommissioned" fire arms should still be treated as live firearms

This shop should be put under investigation because of how dangerous the guns have been made to be.

The shop needs to be inspected, it can be a threat to society. The technology with fire arms is rapidly increasing
