Cavannites: Western Australia’s dolphin death shame out of the blue

At least one dolphin a week is being killed in trawl nets in northern Western Australia. The death toll is rising as authorities fail to address the ongoing problem. The dolphins are dying as a result of their injuries such as torn fins, lacerated flanks, broken beaks and being dragged through the ocean at high speeds.

Do you think that this is a problem and should authorities intervene?

This is a big problem to our animals and wildlife. Also it is just wrong that people are doing this to these poor animals when they can't do anything to avoid it.

I dont understand why dolphins are being killed there. reguardless of the reason, i dont agree with what their doing. dolphins are harmless for the most part and have no reason to be killed or tortured like this

This is most likely a problem to other parts of the under-water ecosystem as well. I think this is a large problem for harmless animals to be killed and abused like this.

I think that this a huge problem that deserves the attention to be solved. Animals are important to our world and human just can't take over until all animals are gone. People are only going to care when it is too late or when people are personally in danger (selfish). So we need to take action now and start a domino effect to help as much as we can before total damage is done.

I feel that regulations should be made in accordance with animal safety laws and that the authorities should intervene in order to protect the dolphins.

This is definitely a problem that requires intervention by authorities. When an animal faces such unnatural circumstances that can lead to death, it is essential for people to create laws to protect those animals.

I do believe this is a problem that authorities should take action in. We shouldn't allow our dolphins to be injured and killed off any more without attempting to stop it.

I think that this is horrible that this is happening to the dolphins and that nothing is being done about it. I think someone should help the dolphins or the Australian authorities should do something about the problem.

This makes me sad because people don't take care of animals as much as they should. Auhtorities deffinately need to intervene because this is a terrible thing that is happening.

Animals often times are left out. People need to pay more attention to animals and helping whenever it may be possible. If we do not help these dolphins they could become extinct:(

We need to protect the dolphins but not just dolphins but this applies to all animals in general who can't speak and defend for themselves. Authorities should look into this. They just can't continue to die when we could take steps to prevent it

This is a big problem and the dolphins should be better cared for. Authorities should step in and make a larger effort to protect and save the dolphins.
