U.S. ambassador asks for protection of journalists in Mexico

Due to the number of murdered journalists and the high levels of impunity in the country, the ambassador of the United States in Mexico, Anthony Wayne, has called for more attention to the protection of these professionals.

Should we continue to have journalists venture here? What could be plans of protection to help these professionals to continue their work in Mexico?

I think we should stop sending journalists there because it is dangerous, but if they insist, they can go on their own.

It wouldn't make sense to prohibit them from doing so after all it is their career. Journalists should be allowed to venture where ever at their own risk.

I think journalists should not keep going there and if they do they need protection from the government or their own personal protection.

I think that it should be the journalist's choice if he wants to travel to dangerous countries, and he shouldn't be forced to go.

As far as plans of protection, I am not sure what we can do. When you're traveling on foreign lands there's not much that can be done. Journalists serve an important role in society in finding and presenting information

If dozens of journalists have been murdered on the job, i think it should be at the discretion of the journalist to continue their work in mexico or not.

I feel like there should be more protection of our journalists that are going to risk their life in order to do their job and service their fellow countrymen with news and information they might not receive otherwise.

Without these journalists entering the country and reporting on what they find there, we may not have access to information about Mexico.

I do think that we should continue sending journalist here because we need to know the truth about things happening in other countries. I also think that these journalist need more protection when they are in these places.
