On Wednesday night, five police officers in Jalisco, Mexico prepared to search the passengers of a recently arrived truck. Momentarily, two pickup trucks with an unknown number of gunmen open fired 800 bullets and threw grenades at the officers, killing them instantly. Two civilians were also wounded. More than 3,000 deaths have occured over drug violence in Mexico this year. Drug gangs are having wars over smuggling routes.
Maybe if Mexico's law enforcement wasn't so corrupt it would help the situtation. But the government can't do anything because it is so corrupt. Sorry Mexico, but this is going to go on for a while.
Legalizing drugs would end a lot of the violence but I don't think its right. They need stricter enforcement on the drug gangs but this would probibly only increase the violence. It's a tricky problem.

I don't think legalizing drugs would solve anything at all, that's just silly. I agree that the law enforcement needs to take more action, but I don't know how that could happen. Maybe educate the kidddos of Mexico about how awful drugs are...might be a little helpful in the future, possibly? a little bit? hah I don't know. This is a tough issue!
