Obama Breaks A Promise

Obama breaks his promise about campaign finances.

Obama bought 30 minutes of airtime on 5 different TV stations, which was not cheap whatsoever.

Obama also has raised over $600 million dollars.

Do you think he should be spending all this money on better things?? Perhaps try to help our economy a bit more?? Or continue buying airtime, radio time, etc?   confused

I think using campaign contributions to "help the economy" is questionable legally. I'm also not sure what exactly that would entail either.

well this is for his campaign so he can do what he wants with it, im sure he has already put some within the economy, and his job as president hasn't begun yet and if he becomes president, thanks to all that extra air time ; ) he will hopefully change the economy then.

he happens to get ALOT of support and for good reason therefore he has alotta money. he needs the airtime to get peoples attention as much as he can. and once this election is over he can put the rest of the money to good use i think

The amount of money has on his campaign wouldn't fix the economy. A rich man can't single-handedly say "Here is my money! Now everything is peachy" The economy collapsed like a house of cards. He hasn't broken a promise. He's fortunate and his money has helped his campaign, regardless of whether or not you agree with him, he has been doing very well. Its not over till its over, but in regards to his money, he chose not to accept match funds from the government, which means he doesn't have a limit on his funding. McCain chose to accept the funds so he has significantly less. But they each made choices on their campaign and its not a bad thing Obama is doing.

i think its more important for him to get his message out than it is to spend his own hard earned campaign money on single hadedly restoring the economy which is slightly impossible.

The biggest thing for him now is to win the election.
By the way, he should have the abilities to save the economy as a president not only by using these money.

agreed with laura. he rightfully earned his money through supporters and donations. i think he's doing a very good job with advertising his campaign. i don't think it's just plain advertising though, it brings facts to people (or at least plans) and let's you get to know a candidate.

He should start spending money on other things, after he gets elected... right now his main focus is should be actually winning

He wants to use his money to better his chance of becoming president. Then he'll try and fix the economy.

for now he can spend this money on his campaign, but if he becomes president, he should spend it on the economy...

the whole point of campaign money is to use it on your campaign.

it's his to do what he wants and hes using it to promote himself to become president. once he does become president then he can be concerned on how he uses his money.

Isn't the left over campaign money left in his "war chest" for the next election (if he's elected)? His money is his money is his money. It was earned for the campaign which has done him wonders. The money he has earned isn't going to be passed out amongst the masses and all of a sudden fix the economy. New policies and the rebuilding of the workplace is going to fix it.

we have so many problems in the world, and with our economy, and instead of advertising himself by spending useful money, not only him but anyone that decides to throw away any hard earned cash, he should advertise himself by making a difference in the world, and use that money for greater goood, i mean actions speak better than words anyways!
