psychedelic: online protest in canada

Canadian officials dropped a bill that had banned drivers 19 and younger from driving wiht more then on teenage  in the car. it also included measure such as automatic liscense suspenion for speeding and zero blood alchol limit for drivers 21 and under. the drivers started a protest on facebook that got ~150,000 signatures in a little over 2 weeks.

would a protest on myspace or facebook work for the U.S.?
should the driving laws be more relaxed? stricter?
was this origanlly a good bill?

I think the bill sounds pretty good. A major cause of accidents for teenagers is the distraction of their passengers. I'm not sold on the automatic suspension for speeding, but definitely for blood alcohol content. They are doing this to protect their youth. It may not be as eco-friendly, but if it saves lives, how can you really argue. I wouldn't be surprised if California followed their example, seems like something we would do.

This bill is dumb in my opinion. But their are many stupid teens or young adults out their that probably could have prevented this, but rather be stupid on the road. Sooooooo.....ehh. Its a toss up for me.

i like the internet protest idea- we use it for everything else, why not protests?

i also like the part of the bill that has automatic suspension of the license for speeding. that would be nice to see implemented around here. it would make me feel a lot safer driving.

We could use a stricter driving bill here in California. There are so many dumb, young drivers on the road, I think we give out licenses to easy.

a protest on myspace or facebook is actually not to bad of an idea only because it is so popular, and thats like one of the biggest ways people communicate now adays, but if the protest would actually get somewhere and mean something, i dont know! and about teen driving... holy crap they keep makeing the laws more strict and its becoming rediculous, the way we have the driving law i think is a little to uptight and should be relaxed a little bit, or just leave it alone but deffinitally not any stricter

i think these laws are great. i think all the kids that are protesting are the ones who are doing all these things. I think that authority feels like they need to apply stricter laws becuase a huge majority of teenagers are breaking them.
