Scientists have identified 1,068 plant and animal species that were either believed to be extint or that were unknown. 500 plant species, 300 fish, 90 frogs and more than 40 lizards were found.
The reports say that they were found largely in the unexplored jungles and wetlands of the Mekong River that runs through China, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. They say that many more species are yet to be discovered in the area.

Thoughts on these species? Should government in other countries have programs to endorse finding out about new species? Is this even important? Which species is your favorite?
I think there aren't many undiscovered species in other countries left...except where there are jungles and deep forests :) the stripped rabbit is cute and I loved the green snake!
i think this discovery is amazing, it sweet to find new creatures from around the world my favorite is the frog with green blood and turquoise bones lol
I read an article on yahoo about this, and they said they found gigantic spiders. I think we should burn down the forest, becuase if those things get loose, I'm going to freak out.
