Wanted: boyfriend for 2 days, acting skills a plus

A female student at Peking University in China didn't want to go home alone for the Spring Festival so she's seeking a man to pretend to be her boyfriend.

She is offering to pay up to 10,000 yuan ($1,460) a day to the person who accepts the role.

She wrote that her family won't let her go home for the holiday "unless I bring home a boyfriend with me."

The ad triggered debate on the Internet with some saying they understood her situation while some psychologists said it could cause trouble for her and possibly put her in danger if dishonest men answered her ad.

Ai ya!!! Three thousand-ish bucks just to be a boyfriend for two days?! That's a good price!!! GIVE ME THE MONEY!!! (I typed that first part in Chinese, but it didn't show up here. So that was the translated version. :D) But seriously, the family not allowing her to celebrate Chinese New Year with them kind of defeats the meaning of Chinese New Year, a time of joy and family reunions. But HIRING a boyfriend just to please her parents isn't right in my mind either. So neither side is right on this one. LOL!!!

its sad that her family is putting up an utimatum like that...if her family is going to treat her that way, why does she even want to spend the holiday with them?

heck, i would just not go home at all! that's pretty sad that her parents are making her do that, way too much pressure.  aren't those things supposed to take time? and what if the guy she picks turns out to be a total creeper? she shouldn't have put the ad on the internet.  she should have handed out flyers at her school or something instead.

but you guys need to understand that it's a cultural thing..its pretty important in an asian community for the daughter to bring home a stable man. but it IS pretty sad that this girl would go to this extreme to pay for a boyfriend..she might as well just hire an escort. at least then she will get her money's worth..and they're professionals too!
