This was a tragic story.

What needs to be done better as a society?

Increase information about family planning/unwanted pregnancy prevention?  Increase availability of birth control?  Increase abstinence-promotion programs?  Increase the number and popularity of purity balls? Reduce the taboo of legal abortion? Encourage the entertainment industry not to greenlight movies like Saved and Juno (there's a mixed school of thought about whether they, especially Juno, glorified teen pregnancy - your thoughts?)

On article:That is awful that her boyfriend would do that!

On Mrs. Cavalluzzi's post: Wow I have never heard of a purity ball that is interesting though. About Juno it is probably glorifying teen pregnancy a little bit to much but there are some lines in the movie that give a negative view point of teen pregnancy like when everyone is staring at her stomach during school and giving her dirty looks, but other then that they should probably put  more negative spin on it. We should probably have more abstinence-promotion programs in schools, I also think that it is good for parents to talk to their kids about abstinence and safe sex, because kids do learn a lot from their parents, it is just that some parents don't talk to their kids about those kinds of things.

yeah, things did go over a little too well in Juno; i don't think it would that easy to give up a little person who has been inside you for 9 months.  it probably depends on what kind of person you are and the situation.  but it was still a good movie.
abstinence programs sounds really great- especially if they bring in people who have gone through teen pregnancy to share with other teens that it's not all fun and games once they have their babies.  and i like this idea of purity balls.  i think that having an experience like that would be great- although i'm not one who like to dress up and all that.  but it seems like it would create a very special bond between father and daughter and might enforce the abstinence moral in all girls.  the only thing is- bringing a girl at age 4 to one of those- a little weird!
as for those misoprostol pills, they seem disgusting!! and i feel so bad for the girl that had the boyfriend who sneaked them into her drink! she must have been so freaked out when the miscarriage happened.  its so sad how we're creating all these ways to kill an innocent life!

Now there is only one question. Is it alright to do this just cause a doctor helped? A doctor assisting is the only diffrence. Abortion should be wrong and cases like these make it more appanrant.

This is more that wrong! Truly tragic. The thing that shocked me the most in the entire first article was the quote by the vice president of PPH saying that using a condom means your unfaithful???
I know my views are far different from many others. (Personally, I believe in purity) But I think anyone would agree that that is a very weird thing to say.
I think this entire practice is so so sad. Especially that guy slipping the pill into his girlfriends milk. Like Monica said, Its truly sad that people are working so had to find ways to perform an abortion without the abortion. The immoral part is more KILLING the child that actually performing the procedure if that makes any sense??? The way they do it is wrong but doing it at all, taking an innocent baby's life in any form, is so sad and to me, is wrong.

With regards to the Topic name; It does cause abortion, just not the typical abortion we think of.
According to Wikipedia:
'An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. An abortion can occur spontaneously due to complications during pregnancy or can be induced.'

Typically when we hear 'induced'[with regards to Abortion], we think of the doctor and yeah, gross stuff.
However, by taking those pills they clearly are inducing the abortion.

Wow !!!! I cant even come to explain how wrong these people are! Considering the madders at hand, not wanting a child is one thing, but murding an innocent life is another. I could never come to understand the decisions some make. (especially using different alternative ways to end pregnancy that not only kills the child within but harms those who carry the fetus) Whats this world coming to?

Although this is wrong I can understand why they chose to do this. Especially or those who can't afford $1200 for an abortion or fear the after effects of it. Having said that, these people responsible deserve the punishment they receive. But hopefully they will receive therapy so they can make better decisions in the future.

For him to put pills into her drink is just nasty! It could cause harm to both the mother and her baby. He obviously doesn't love her. It could damage her health. Personally, I don't agree with ANY form of abortion though.

To answer Mrs. Cavaluzzi's post about purity balls, i want to go to one of those purity balls now..lol! It sounds really interesting, it's great that parents are holding those kinds of events for their daughters. It would help promote the chasity moral in girls, which is a good thing for both society and the girls themselves. Absitnence only education isn't a bad idea either, some teach that it is the only 100%, completely affective way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and other risks, and it's true if you give it some thoughts. But that's just my personaly opinion. Promoting abstinence is actualy really affective, but it's up to the parents if they want to teach it or not. A life with no risks is better for young people.
