Throughout Obama's "Not-State of the Union" address last week, members of Congress were Twittering (Tweeting? I'm not up on the Twitter vernacular), sparking a debate about Twitter in general and "Tweet-iquette in particular.
Twittering during a Presidential address: unspeakably rude, or a great way for people to get real-time info and reactions to an event?
Twittering in general: fun and exciting or lame? do we really need up-to-the-minute updates on people's thoughts and feelings? If someone wanted to know what you were doing, wouldn't they just call or ask you directly? Or is there something special about Tweeting and I'm just too out of the modern loop to appreciate it?

I think it's lame,I dont think that the twitterin is all that big of a deal, and yes someone would call me to know what i was doing. To me there is nothing speacial about twittering I don't really care about twittering
haha did you watch the Colbert Report making fun of the lady who twittered during Obama's speech to congress? There's nothing wrong with twitter really, isn't there a similar thing on facebook/myspace where you update your status? I mean last week Shaq gave free tickets to the first person to tap his shoulder at the mall and say they got his twitter message.
Ive never even heard of Twitter??? but UNSPEAKABLY RUDE. I think thats ridiculous. Common, the first black Predsident of the United States of America giving his first non state of the union address! Were making history here and theyre chatting away. Twittering? What is this world coming to?
Twittering is really pointless I think. I've never been, but from what I hear, it's similar to Facebook's 'Live Feed' section, but just like Status updates.
How bored/obsessive does someone have to be to read/be on Twitter? Honestly, how many people do you think CARE that 'Shaq is at the mall.' ? Congrats, you do normal things.
I find all of these social networking sites a waste of my time. i know that if i had a myspace or facebook, i would get nothing done so i dont have one. but i do like the edhs discussion board- i like expressing my opinions while getting news at the same time.

but it is very rude to be twittering during a presidential speech, there is a time and place for social networking/ texting/ twittering..ect...and twittering during an important speech is unacceptable.

I have never heard of Twitter until the end of last year (I think) on CNN. I think it's rude to be twittering or whatever while President Obama's giving his "Not-State-of-the-Union" address. I mean, COME ON, what are you going to write on Twitter when the President is talking? "*FILL IN NAME HERE* is watching Obama talking and SEES A BIRD OUTSIDE IN THE DARK!!!" I don't Twitter or whatever right now so I don't have an opinion based on my experiences with Twitter. Just watch! I criticizing Twitter right now and will maybe non-conform for another 10 years until the fad is over and I get one. That's what happened to me with social-networking sites. Ha ha ha!!!
