100 Months To Act On Climate.

LONDON: Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, is preparing to tell the world we have "less than 100 months to act" before the damage caused by global warming becomes irreversible, the British media reported. Charles accompanied by his wife, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, began a 10- day tour of South America last night, as part of their three-country visit.

They will also stop offf in Chile, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The royal couple's visit to Chile will focus on key issues of environmental sustainability and climate change, as well as the wider bila teral relationship between the two countries, including military ties.

Charles has given a series of adresses over the past 12 months expressing his fears about climate change and the threat to the environment. He has campaigned on the issue fo some time and set up his Rainforests Project group in 2007 to help find a solution.

what should and can american citizens do to help stop global warming?

I can't remember where I heard or saw it from but isn't global warming already irreversible and inevitable? I thought we were simply trying to slow its process, not stop it.

One solution would be to not allow familes without 8 people to buy cars that seat 8 people.

I know this sounds crazy to most of you but i don't believe in global warming/climate change. Remember it was global warming then things started to cool back down in some areas so they called it a climate change. The ice was melting above canada but now it's growing just like the southern ice shelves. Just a scare tactic in my eyes.

I think the eventual solution because to overall majority believes in climate change would be a carbon tax. There using it in other places and its pretty effective.

i dont think we can control/stop global warming..humans are burning organic compounds everyday, causing warmer climate changes, so we ultimately got what we asked for

Carbon tax = destruction of the trucking industry which is already on hard times with gas prices.

we're probably not likely to act on climate change with a recession. Obama talks about this creating jobs bs, yeah maybe over 20 years he'll create those jobs.  And all those developing economies, they aren't going to throw away all their progress to save the world. Why should we spend all this extra money on TRYING TO FIND alternative fuel sources, when we really can't afford it.  the world's greedy and you have to get used to it. 100 months, hmnn thats more than 8 years to act. maybe something will happen.

I'm all for looking for alternative fuels so that we don't have to destroy and develop land and ruin habitats for animals- they were here first. plus, i think it would be healthier for us humans to breath in better, cleaner air.  I can see the reasoning behind the assumption of a climate change.  The day after tomorrow is an awesome movie- and it seems even more realistic if you watch it at night after its been cloudy and rainy all day.  But my inquiring mind would like to know: how did this prince charles guy come up with 100 days? I hope he has some hard facts on that and has some buddies who are scientists.  And we're all going to die anyway...
