well yea its sad wats going on in other countries but i think we should take care of ourselves first before we go and help other countries because other countries always expect us to help everyone

i agree we should make sure that we are good enough ourselves before we can help out others. Does everyone have food and water? ok then, i think we are good to go.

but to make another point, i think that the governments should stay out of the whole thing. it should be done on a person to person level. because i dont think there will ever be a time when the US doesnt have even 100 problems let alone none. so minimize government involvement.

I've decided that this sounds kind of selfish when we keep saying that we should figure out our problem first and then deal w/ other countries. Everyone is important in this world and regardless of our problems, we should help other people with theirs because we are always going to have problems in our country. Private organizations can go and help, it doesn't always have to be our government. And private organizations usually always do better than government programs anyway.

i think we definitely should help them. although we do have our own problems, that doesn't mean it's okay to just let these things happen and not do anything about it.

like i said in class, if we (our government) always wants to be the big "hero" by going into other countries and "helping" them by staying there for years, then we can do this. at least this will help them in a greater way.
