The western powers should only help countries that help themselves. Every time we go to one of these god forsaken hell holes and try to help we get stabbed in the back. Until these countries wish to be exploited by our need for cheap labor, they should not look to the west for help.

I don't understand how you can sit back and do nothing while millions of people suffer in africa. The current state of Africa is a direct result of the atrocities that were committed by the white European countries. Refermation should be payed and the west should help these poor developing countries. We should all come together and do our part to help these people.

I agree, we should only help countries that help themselves. But as for exploiting countries for cheap labor...how do you plan on helping our economy if you want to outsource labor?

How do you expect these countries to help themselves after the west left them on the brinch of destruction. The united states would not be the world super power that it is, if it werent for the explotation of african peoples as slaves.

umm.... You say Somalia must help itslef in order to receive help..... but the truth is thay Somalia was helping itself. It had set up its own Islamist government and there was a moment of peace in Somalia around 2004. Then due to America who became paranoid as it always does thought it was a terrorists haven.... So Ethiopia with the help of the America invaded Somalia and destroyed their Islamist government and restored Somalia to its past state of chaos. And of course the US had to "fix" Somalia so it set a very weak powered rule in Somalia. Then the original Islamist government activists who wanted their government back began to fight for it. Thats the Somalia war and how the US in some ways ruined Somalia for a second time.

Somalia is none of our business. We need to take care of ourselves first before we venture to save the world. The U.S. tried to help these people before... nothing came of it. Oh and BTW white people are not the problem. The evil white people had farms that actually produced food and provided jobs for the people. Then they pushed them out and now africa starves... go figure. And by pushed I meant they were slaughtered like animals.

The reason we don't worry about Somalia is because we kicked their butts and we can do it again. We hav to look out for our own interests first and foremost. The notion of pinning African poverty solely on white people it really stupid. Its just like a democrat to blame the world's problems on their home nation, America.
