Look at the California family code section 297. It specifically says that the domestic partners are entitled to everything that married couples are entitled to. Why dont we go back to when marriage was not dictated by the government. It was purely a religious ceremony to join a MAN+WOMAN together. And it should stay that way. These gays should not try to undermine a religious ceremony when they have no business being there. They are trying to force themselves into it and they dont belong. A domestic partnership is all they deserve, it does not need to be entitled "marriage" and pollute the sanctity of it. And regardless of what people say, or who says it, gay marriage is immoral and everyone should oppose such things.

Family units in the roman times? thats funny! Little kids were taken to be trained for battle when they were well..LITTLE. To compare a family unit now to ones back then is almost pointless.

Issues like that are completely unrelated. The fact that are you denying people the right to what would make them truly and completely happy is hateful. Why should you have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex, if that's what makes you happy, if they can't have the same type of satisfaction?

Denying them a right that does not even exist is hate? The state of California denies me the satisfaction of owning particular things, is that hate as well. You guys throw around this word like the word racist.

and Abbey let me further explain, I simply said she is intelligent because i actually really like how she uses facts a lot of the time to support her beliefs, not many people actually do in these debates. She also is "short and sweet and to the point" while having facts on her side. I think she is very intelligent, does that mean I think less of anyone else? No. especially you I actually agree with a lot of things you say(except gay issues obviously). Well anyways, like I was saying I don't think any less of anyone else, I just think less of the lack of facts. But to assume that because I find her intelligent, therefore means I find everyone else lower is incorrect.

Some Roman leader married his sister and appointed his horse to be a senator.

Its just collapse in moral soceity all around.

Ask yourself this question... Why did the Roman Empire collapse?

And i'm sure I already know your answer which is going to be something like "because they couldn't control their borders or because their army wasnt large enough" but those answers would only be a small contributing factor to why it collapsed. The real reason is because there soceity was immoral. Homosexuality was not meant to be. Obviously this can be seen just by using common sense... Two guys or Two girls cannot have children... hmmm.... why would people think homosexuality is normal? The answer that I would give is that I have no clue but everyone seems all for it.

And I would love to see what happens in about 200 years or so when gay marriage is already legal and immorality is running rampant. lets just see if history will repeat itself.......

Family structures like that were during the whole roman rule, so I don't see why just the homosexuality part is what you're pointing out? They NEVER had a good family structure. To purely blame their fall on homosexuality is a little asinine. And I do think homosexuality is normal actually, which is why over thousands of animals species practice it, if animals only act on instinct. You would think that would mean something. People ignore that a lot.

In your opinion it is lack of facts, plus what we believe in is what we believe in! so what if her facts are the same as yours, doesnt make everyone else not intelligent like you said.

If you read my previous post you would see that I didn't say homosexuality was the only factor... (See pie reference) :D Homosexuality is not normal. God would have mentioned that in the bible don't you think? He would have said that homosexuality was normal in the bible. You know why he didnt say it is normal? Because its not. Period.

I never said the sole purpose of life was to reproduce. And I know that straight people can't have children. But there is a difference. Straight people cannot have children because there is something physically wrong with their bodies. Gay people cannot have kids not because they have something physically wrong with them.

And I know im never going to change your mind.

OK Megan i understand but do you see?, it took some explaining because without it, you first comment would have stayed offensive. Something to think about.

I also think that gays should be allowed the same rights in the workforce and, regardless of their sexual orientation, are capable like all other people to demonstrate a professional attitude and bring positive things to the table. So no, I'm not promoting hate. In fact, I think that your statement promotes a lot more hate then mine so I'd advise you to stop the hate ; ) and get over the fact that there will always be people who disagree with you in life. Learn to live with it.

Ummm... Ever seen those bible's where the words are in a different color then the rest of the text? Those are god's words.

But they weren't explicitly written by him. They were quotes. Therefore, there's no telling what kind of mistakes or alterations could have been made.

I don't have a problem with the fact that you disagree with me. What I do have a problem with is the irrationality behind many arguments. Yes, maybe you don't agree with gay marriage but you don't have to actively participate in it. Your opinion and desire to not do so should NOT put that kind of damper on other people's personal happiness.

Yes there could be mistakes an altercations.... But I think since he is all knowing he would have made sure that the bible conveyed exactly what he wanted the world to see.

i just quoted you. Did it get distorted? Nope. If the only reason you dont like the Bble is because ppl might have altered it is a bad reason that doesnt hold any water
