Facebook pushes new profile to all users

Back in December, Facebook introduced its new profiles to the world. For the first month, users could choose between the new profile and the old profile. Starting today, all accounts will be upgraded to the new profile. The new Facebook profiles feature a revamped interface, as well as easy access to photos of the user. The profiles also offer more details about work and education information, while letting users put friends into distinct categories, list various interests, and fill out a nifty new "about me" user summary.

Are you already using the new Facebook profiles? Have you run across any epic profile hacks?

Why do we feel so compelled to put all of our personal information on the Internet

I have the new profile... I didn't really see a major difference? I mean, the layout is different but I don't think it's THAT big of a deal.

I fear and hate any form of change. I don't get why they keep changing it though, I mean are people complaining about the status quo, other than the mass demand for a "dislike" button.

You'd think that they would make one by now... change everything BUT the one thing everyone wants.

Doesn't that make you a Facebook Conservative?

is facebook really this importiant that it changes your way of life?....

People should know about thier own perosnal information they put out. Google yourself, search your name and what not on search engines.

I hate it when facebook makes changes like these. The last change that they made changed all my privacy settings and made everything public. I had switch everything back which was really irratating.

I see facebook going down the same path that myspace did. Making things to complicated and just adding to much unnecessary things. Facebook should keep the option to keep the orginal settings.

I didn't change over to the new profile and wasn't really planning on it. However, I guess they have already done it for me. Shows how much I actually go on my Facebook--maybe I should check and see if it's true...

This is exactly what I was thinking.....
What ever happened to "never use your real name on the net" or "never talk to strangers on the net"???
People feel that it is safe to do these things because "everybody else is doing it".
It's kind of funny to me how we are so socially dependent on the internet.

I see no need to change things. Are there people complaining adamantly about the old pages?

Yeah I really hate change and I've always liked Facebook because it has always been so simple. But now I feel like they are trying to become more advanced with all of the latest things that it is eventually going to become too complicated. So I agree that it might go down that Myspace road

ps. Has anyone been on myspace lately? I went on the other day and it is completely different...really confusing

I actually have no idea if I have the new profile or not. I don't pay that much attention to my "profile". I agree with Lauren. I don't get what the big deal is.

Totally off-topic, but an EDHS grad was in the Craigslist killer movie that aired on Lifetime last week (she was one of the ClK's med school friends)
