14 Headless Bodies

Were found in Acapulco, Mexico. Bringing the total up to 31 dead in 4 days. This is believed to be related to the drug violence that is rampant in Mexico.

How do you think Mexico should try to fix this violence?
Do you think the U.S should get involved?
What would be the first steps to take?

1: They should reassert the damn govment and squash the damn drug lords with raw mexican power!
2:NO WE HONESTLY NEED TO LET MEXICO HEAL ITSELF, WE ARE POOR HERE. (and illiterate apparently XD)
3: The government needs to recover it's footing and start crushing the drug regimes.

 1. language bro
 2. Kind of hard not to get involved when Mexico is asking for help, and seeing how most of our drugs are from or go through Mexico, it is our problem. To fight the war on drugs (but not win, otherwise the people fighting would be out of work hahah) we would need to get involved im Mexico
 3. Kind of hard when the mayors are killed when they stand against the cartel and noone wants to be the one leading the faction against the cartel. Also it is hard when parts of their government might be corrupt......

1: okay, but damn isn't that bad...
2:I see your point, but short of suddenly taking over Mexico with either a military presence or just stealing it, there isn't much we can do...
3: and true, murder and corruption doesn't really help...

1.This is a school forum......
2. we are not taking over Mexico, we might be helping them by providing assistance but they will be doing most of the work. We did that in Colombia and severely crippled the cocaine industry in Colombia in the 80s

 1: okie dokie then.
2: I didn't say we were going to take them over, I meant we really couldn't do alot more than an overhaul, and if we provide assistance, how could they do most of the work if those who do said work would be killed or are corrupt?

Getting rid of the corruption in the government in Mexico would be a great place to start. I think we should help Mexico because the country is right below us and we don't want the violence affecting our boarder states. Also alot of the drugs are being brought to and sold in the United States.

It would be very scary to try and combat the violence in Mexico. I think something should be done, but I wouldn't even know where to start. Those drug cartels are vicious and it would be very dangerous to take them on.

Air strike on the cartel. haha Im joking. I think that we need to get involved becuase Mexico can't do it by itself. Corruption has made it impossible for them too. The first step to take would for the U.s Military to go in and start squashing the cartel since there is no diplomatic means to get to them and The mexican government cant send in troops becaus eof the corruption. But i dont think we can send troops in Untill we have pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan completely. The military is streched to thin already.
