In Porter Ranch, a woman pepper sprayed customers at a Wal-Mart in what authorities say was a deliberate attempt to get more "door buster" merchandise. In San Leandro, a Wal-Mart shopper walking to his car was shot and wounded in a suspected robbery early Friday...
At Porter Ranch, 20 customers, including children, were hurt in the 10:10 p.m. incident, officials said. Shoppers complained of minor skin and eye irritation and sore throats.
"This was customer-versus-customer 'shopping rage,'" said Los Angeles Police Lt. Abel Parga.
The woman used the spray in more than one area of the Wal-Mart "to gain preferred access to a variety of locations in the store," said Los Angeles Fire Capt. James Carson.
"She was competitive shopping," he said
So... is there anything you guys do in Black Friday this Thanksgiving break? Did you buy anything?
For me it was terrible, I didn't get up at 7:00 AM, have a bowl of cereal (no milk), and I couldn't make up whether to seat in the front seat or the back seat.
I really don't get it, people take their extra day off for the holiday, wake up at midnight, stand in line, rush the stores (and then get trampled), and proceed to do what we do really well. The day is the pinnacle of Consumerism. And its no surprise that people just do it, because they are told they need to do it. Basically, they're saying, "COME TO OUR STORE, even if you have no idea what you're getting a deal on, you NEED TO BUY STUFF!"
... and for some magical reason, it works.

That lady is crazy. It's sad that some people feel the need to go to such extremes in order to get a TV. Kinda ironic how people are so greedy the day after THANKSgiving..or even the night of.
Personally I like participating in Black Friday. I don't really buy anything but it's a tradition for my family to go super early, with KOST 103.5 Christmas music on in the car, and looking at the wrapping lines outside of the stores.
I've never been much of a Black Friday shopper, but I did go onto Amazon after 9:00 to see if they'd started any Lightning Deals at midnight East Coast time, and I bought a bunch of Lightning-Deal-and-otherwise stuff from Amazon over the weekend. I went to Barnes & Noble at a normal hour on Friday and did a bunch of holiday shopping - I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't super crowded, though a little concerned for what that means for the future of our Last Big Bookstore.

Lego, Cav (the Lego brand name was derived from the Danish expression "leg godt" - play well - and lego also translates in Latin as "I study" or "I put together"...really, one of the world's most perfect words!)
and I'm definitely not a Black Friday shopper and i probably never will be. Having to fight off all these crazy people just to get something cheaper than its original price just isnt worth it
