Seven kids at East Carter High School in Grayson, Kentucky thought it would be funny to release 10,000 crickets in their school last Thursday morning as a senior prank. The administration didn't find the prank to be funny. The seniors were not allowed to walk in their graduation ceremony on Saturday morning and will not receive their diplomas until they each pay a $600 fine.
I am pretty much deathly afraid of crickets, so I would not find that funny! Whether or not the fine is too extreme depends on how much the school had to pay to get rid of the cricket infestation.
I think this is funny! and the fact that theyre holding their diplomas from them is kinda extreme
Yes, it is funny, but they aren't holding diplomas. They are merely not letting them walk during graduation. They are still graduating as far as I can tell.
They are lucky theyre even allowed to graduate from the school, when crickets die they smell horrible and it's very hard to get the smell out. I understand it was just a prank but they have to pay for what they did... welcome to the real world kiddos.

They're holding the students diplomas until they pay the fine
I don't think it is extreme. That is so many crickets.... They should be punished for doing it. And I don't think $600 is too much of a fine, I think it is just right.
I think they should be able to walk but have to pay the fine its a senior prank its suppose to be funny. The money will go to the clean up that i understand. But being able to walk over a dumb senior prank that didnt cause anyone physical harm is too exstreme to me. just my thoughts

Well if these kids had the money to buy 10,000 crickets, then I'm sure they can cough up at $600 fine.
I understand that they arent letting them walk because of the prank, but to hold their diploma hostage until they pay the fine is excessive. Like Maddy said, how much damage could crickets do?
Their prank caused no one any physical harm and it's not like they have to rebuild the school or anything. I think not letting them walk was very excessive.
