A new anti-pornography bill proposed by the Ugandan government would outlaw clothing that exposes intimate parts in public, along with a broad range of media materialsincluding televised concerts and music videos by the likes of Beyoncé and Madonna. Television should not broadcast a sexy person, the countrys ethics and integrity minister, Simon Lokodo, told South Africas Mail & Guardian. Lokodo, a former priest, vowed that the government would even be monitoring the Internet so we know who has watched which website and we know who has watched pornographic material. The minister, explains his belifes that that scantily clad women entice men to sexually attack them, added that the ban will apparently not apply to men
Do you think that there should be ban on ONLY women clothing? Do you think what women wear cause men to "sexually attack them"?
The belief that women cause men to sexually attack them due to the clothes they wear places the blame in the wrong place! The men who do not have enough self-control to not attack the women are the ones who should be punished!
women do show more skin than men do, which isn't right. But at the same time I agree with Rebecca, men need to have self-control, which is something we are obviously lacking in our society.

I agree its more on the men not being able to control themselves and their urges. They need to get some better self control groups.
The ability to restrain oneself from making a stupid and horrible decision that, in the process, can completely destroy the life of another person, is typically a life skill one should look into.
My personal thought is that a women is NEVER asking for anything based of what she is wearing. If you feel confident enough in what you are wearing and wanna show off your body that's your own personal choice but just because you are confident and half naked, doesn't mean that you wanna be "sexually attacked or raped." I think that's where the problem lies.
I agree wiht Lauren and Rebecca the men just need to have self control. My dad leaves for Uganda tomorrow and he is in love with Beyonce ... lol that stinks for him!
I agree that guys should control themselves, but I also think that women looking for attention by wearing scandalous clothes should be careful. I am not saying that women are "asking for it" or anything of that nature, but i think that the way women dress can mean different things in their minds then it does to the minds of the men that view them.
Lol what men's clothing are you going to ban?? We don't have anything to show and most of the time our legs are covered up. Of course guys need to have self control but why should women be wearing things that have their "objects", that they know sexually arouse men, visible so that everyone can see. I mean honestly I've seen so many freshman butts its disgusting and I'm not even looking for them I hate freshman, they literally wear short shorts that are wayyyy too short and clothes that are way too tight. I've never understood why there is a need for younger and younger girls to show more of what they don't have, and in general for all women why must you wear things that are tighter and smaller? It may be attractive but every women knows that when they walk out the door, so why should men be 100% for the blame when women tease them? Pfft! Equality my butt, there's no equality in this situation men are always at fault when it should be 50-50, that's equality! but only if the women was wearing scantily clad clothes. So this African country is doing what it wants, who cares? About 80 years ago women were wearing literally twice as much clothing as they are now and even more before that, whats wrong with having to cover up lol And if a girl doesn't know that revealing their "objects" sexually arouses boys and men someone please let her know! lol

So you're saying that if women are attacked and/or raped, it is their fault for wearing the clothes they wore? Then, what about attacks made in the winter? Women wear just as much clothes as men in the winter & attacks are just as common. I agree that girls these days wear wayyyyy less clothes than they should or used to, but it is not their fault if they are attacked. No means no. I don't care what someone is wearing.
What I'm saying is IF! the girl attacked was wearing revealing clothing, the blame is 50-50, unless the attack was planned or some other factor but if it was a random choice of attack then her revealing clothing did not help her. But if she was attacked in the winter (randomly) and she was wearing say yoga pants then it is also 50-50 blame but overall most rape attacks aren't based off of what the girl is wearing when she is attacked so this countries efforts are kinda...useless but they still can ban it

So you are saying if a male is walking down the beach in a speedo its his fault if a girl "sexual attacks" him? It's the same thing as girl just vervsed roles. Because most men wear swim trunks so he's wearing less than other men causing girls to look at him different and as you say "ask for it."
