The owner of four pit bulls that killed a woman jogger in a gruesome mauling was charged with murder Thursday in a highly unusual case that strained the memories of law enforcement officials to find comparable uses of the felony murder law.
Alex Jackson, 29, was charged after DNA tests on his dogs found blood on their muzzles and coats that matched that of Pamela Devitt, 63, who died after being bitten 150 to 200 times by his four pit bulls.
Stories like these always make me so sad to hear about. People blame pitbulls for being ferocious and all of that, but the owners are to blame for that. Any dog can be taught to be violent. That poor girl though. What a painful & terrible way to die. My heart goes out to her family.
I think if he wanted to have so many pitbulls he should've been able to control them. I read a story about a little elementary school girl in the UK who was also mauled and killed by dogs. She was carrying a meat pie to her friends house.
This is so sad. My grandma was attacked by pit bulls when see was in her 80's. She was walking on the sidewalk when they ran up to her and started biting her. She left there on the ground bleeding until someone came up to her and helped her. She survived, miraculously, but any story about pit bulls attacking a person reminds me of this.
