Number one topic in Latin America at the moment: drugs. Earlier this week three Venezuelan National Guards were arrested on suspicion of involvment in the smuggling of more than 1.3 tonnes of cocaine in 31 suitcases on a flight arriving from Caracas.
What should the National Guard do to attempt to prevent this from happening in the future? Discuss.
Unfortunately, the number one problem in Latin America has been drugs for a LONG time. There is not much more that they can do when the amount of people that have to do with drugs (including both the suppliers and the users) outnumbers the amount of people trying to keep peace there.

I agree with Tristen. It just gets to a point where it's out of everyone's control because there's too many people affiliated with drug trafficing/usage
The National Guard should be more strict with who they admit into their service and also monitor their tasks to make sure that they are doing their job properly in order to prevent events like this from occurring again.
The Drug Trade has corrupted many goverments in Latin America, this problem will continue untill either the goverment is overthrown or the Drug Trade is eliminated
The drug trade and violence in Central/South America only exists because of the high demand for drugs in America. Maybe if the media didn't glorify drug use then these kind of incidents wouldn't occur
