Police in Oregon have released footage of a motorist shooting at a patrol officer after he was pulled over for speeding. Ignoring orders to stay in his car, the driver gets out and adopts a military pose with one hand behind his back. The driver, identified as John Van Allen, was dead, shot once in the chest.
I feel in this day 'n age there is so much violence and distrust that doing a pose will get you killed. And also it seems like police shooting happen a lot more then they should.
This is very unfortunate. It says in the article that he had three children in his car, I wonder if they were his or someone elses. It will be interesting to see how this story developes!
watched the video. cops need to remember that you never know what you might come across in a routine stop. anything could happen so be prepared. it sickens me knowing that people will kill the ones who are keeping us safe.
Dang, that's crazy....what does it take for a man to shoot an officer? Like what is the mental boundary you have to cross to deny you being caught doing something to the extent where you jeopardize your own life for it?
The fact the guy got out of the car really fast and looked like he was up to no good should have been a warning sign for the police man, but if someone is going to use a gun against a policeman, that policeman has every right to use a gun back to protect himself.
