I think they should keep it at 18, for the sole reason of 16 year-olds are not fully developed (neither are 18 year olds, but they are closer).

16 year olds are not mature enough, they would most likely be uninformed voters, who will conform to the masses and not make educated votes

16 year olds should definitely not be allowed to vote. 16 is a dramatic stage and I remember when I was 16 I just watched the news and thought I always had the right story and info but then you read the fine print (literally, in those book things they mail out) and it's super different or have little side comments that no one hears about. It's a lot of pressure that I don't think a 16 year old is mentally ready to handle.

I think the age needs to stay at 18 its just more of the norm and you are a little more developed at that age. But then again many 18 year old's don't even vote so maybe 16 year old's will vote more??

I think the age should stay at 18. Most 16 year olds stay at home with their parents and allow their parents to worry about the politics effecting their lives. I would rather wait two years to be educated on politics and the government. And by the time your 18, you have more of an understanding of what your voting for.

I think that the voting age should stay at 18 because a lot of 16 known next to nothing about politics or voting.

two years doesn't give you too much more experience. After all, a 56 year old is not significantly less experienced than a 58 year old.

i think even 18 is too young. i don't know why it is considered being an adult.

they shouldn't lower the age for this kinda of stuff, i mean their choices could ruin the future if they don't make the right choices

i really think 16 is too young. They will be immature and have a lower chance in knowing what they are voting for in the first place. (considering some people who are at least 18 still don't know half the things they vote for)

Wasn't the age of 18 orinially established because that was the age that a young man could be drafted into war? Under their reasoning, if you're old enough to fight, you're old enough to vote. I think it is important for young people to be able to vote and influence elections, however, the age of 16 seems very young.

16 is too young of an age to vote. Most 16 year olds make irrational decisions and aren't educated enough to make capable decisions, let alone vote. We wouldn't want irresponsible citizens creating influence.
