Dunn, 47, a man claiming to have shot out of self defense, is charged with fatally shooting Davis, 17, in the parking lot of a Jacksonville convenience store after an argument over loud music.
I think this situation could have been different if the communication between these two people was better. To shoot a teen over loud music is not acceptable. This could have been avoided if Dunn was more aware of the power, control, and responsibility when holding a lethal weapon.
That is the dumbest thing ever. That could have been resolved by Dunn not being an idiot. Dunn needs help because no sane person would take such a drastic measure.
I think Dunn should be arrested and put in prison because shooting someone over loud music is greatly overreacting. However, if Davis tried to attack Dunn, then maybe shooting would be more justified, but it still could have been handled better without the use of a gun.

I think this is another Zimmerman kind of case. Dunn should do a lot of time in prison, so he can learn to defend himself without using lethal weapons. I think he is a coward and a moron for using a gun as defense toward a 17 year old..
I think this situation could have been resolved in a completely different way. It is ridiculous that a man shot a teenager over an arguament like this. This is not exceptable in any way and Dunn should be punished for what he has done and for the way he acted.
9 rounds??? and Davis was sitting in the car? how scared could Dunn have been to feel like he needed to empty an entire clip into a car filled with kids listening to music? this is ridiculous, i think that this guy should do life. people are too quick too pull the trigger now a days and we need to set the president that if u do shoot someone to DEATH in "self defense" you better be able to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, and if you cant you're a murderer. if you claim self defense PROVE IT.
This reminded me of the Zimmerman case. I think that Dunn should be punished for what he has done. Davis could have turned down his music though as the whole situation might have been avoided. But the fact that Dunn would just shoot a teen for loud music is baffling.
Dunn knew what he was doing. I dont believe that a 47 year old would fear for his life from a 17 year old sitting in his car listening to music loudly. The fact that he shot the kid 9 times showed that he wanted to kill and not just injure to get away.
This is not a case of self-defense. This is a case of an angry man whose temper got the best of him. This is an absolutely ridiculous case. Do you relaize that you just killed a tteenager who has his whole life ahead of him for PLAYING LOUD MUSIC. What is our world coming to?! I don't think that a 47 year old man could have been so afraid of a 17 year old playing music to justify shooting him 17 times.
This was definitely an overreaction. There is no reason someone should kill another person over loud music unless lives were at stake. In the article it doesn't seem like there was any life-threatening threats except for this person with a gun.
I definitely think this issue could have been resolved in many different ways rather than the use of firearms. I think this happening is outrageous and could have been avoided if Dunn did not instigate and just simply kept to himself and went somewhere else if he did not like the music.
of course this could of been resolved differently, taking a teenagers life because of loud music is horrible. He could of just called the cops to tell him to stop and unless Dunn was being attacked by the teenager and was endangering his life, shooting him is the absolute wrong way to deal with it.
Umm it definitely could have been resolved in another way, there is no reason to shoot someone over loud music, especially if it was in a parking lot. He could have just walked away, thats a start. I think the problem is that neither of them backed down, and then it escalated into someone dying. Its really a tragedy.
This could have definitely resolved differently and it appalls me. When I heard this on the news i was completely blown away at the fact that a grown man could do such a horrible and permeant thing over something so small. This issue also raises the controversy on gun use and the right to have a gun on you at all times.
It is obvious that this man has some serious judgment problems if he shot a boy just for playing music in his own car. Shooting him, was a absurd reaction to something he could of just walked away from. This makes me question the type of people we are allowing to have gun permits.
It could have been resolved in a more civilized manner rather than pulling a gun on someone. The situation is pretty ridiculous considering it was all just because kids were blasting their music in a gas station. I play my music way to loud and I know it but that doesn't mean I should be shot at. If someone were to ask me to turn in down politely than I would. And probably so would the kids in this article.
