Taliban splinter group claims responsibility for reporter's slaying- Radio Flyers

A Taliban splinter cell killed a Swedish reporter claiming that he was not a reporter but an undercover agent for MI6. Afghan police can not verify that the reporter was a spy for the English spy agency. He was gunned down in broad daylight in front of a restaurant.

Do you think that the men that killed him should be brought to justice for trying to protect their secrets? Why or Why not?

Yes they should be brought to justice because they just assumed he was a spy and killed him. They did not know for sure or have real evidence. Dont' assume, it could create prblems and make you look dumb.

disbeliefdisbeliefdisbeliefdisbeliefdisbeliefdisbelief This just shows how broken the world can be today. Yes he should be put in jail and punished for what he did. Just because u assume something does not give you the right to do anything until its verified. I could assume many things and not have any proof for any of them.

This is ridiculous. Of course he should be brought to justice, he killed another innocent person without any evidence. You cannot make a serious decision like that based on suspicion...

Yes i think they should be brought to justice because they had no real proof as to whether the reporter was a spy or night. They could have brought him in for interrogation instead of killing him, especially in front of a public area.

Yes they should be brought to justice. Also i think because of this reporters should be more cautious and know what could happen .

yes he should definitely be brought to justice, a persons a person no matter what and taking a life away deserves to be punished. no action should be based on assumptions.

I agree with Gigi, you can't murder someone without proof.

Yes, the perpetrators of this crime should definitely be punished. First of all, they had no proof that this individual was a spy for M16. Also, even if this person was a spy, if he's in front of a restaurant he doesn't pose an immediate threat to anyone around him, and he definitely isn't trying to expose any secrets, unless he's trying to find out a secret ingredient for a dish at the restaurant he was at, like Plankton in Spongebob Squarepants or something. It's really unfortunate that the Swedish reporter/accused spy was killed though. Reuters who go to those kinds of countries are among the bravest people in the world.

They should be brought to justice. It clearly shows how dumb they were to kill a reporter based on the assumption of him being a spy for another country.

They should be brought to justice and killed for what he did. you should not be allowed to kill someone just to try to protect your secrets.

The splinter cell should be brought to justice. This is wrong in all cultures and was not a justified killing.

They should definitely be punished because it was uncalled for and they shouldn't have shot based off of instinct. Again, it is just another example of all the things the Taliban need to fix.
