So Hawk Talk was tough this morning...

WHAT a beautiful tribute to Logan!  Really, really well done, Mark and colleagues :).  My whole second period was teary and I'm sure many of you were, as well.

Grief is tough.  That it has its own timetables and its individualized manifestations for each mourner makes it all the harder.

In this and any other difficult occasion, there are many ways to respond.  For what it's worth, I think the best way is to celebrate the best parts of the person/occasion and honor their spirit and memory by living well and cherishing your moments, however many of those there may be.

I didn't have the chance to know Logan, but it's clear that he was passionate about skateboarding and filmmaking and had a charismatic and infectious smile. What rocks your world and gets YOUR bliss going?  What are you thankful for?  What are YOU going to do to live well this weekend/next week?

Also, you may have heard about this already, but in case you're interested, I got this email this morning:

You can purchase a Logan Wells shirt here: https://www.booster.com/loganwells.  All proceeds go to his mother for the funeral and possibly the future skatepark.  This has been approved by his mother Katie Wells.    If you order shirts together, there's only one $5 shipping fee.  (Check shirt sizes please- We can't send them back.  You get what you order).  :)

My happydance is inspired by so many things- the beach, great books, great food, funny TV, my great fortune in having the world's coolest job where I get to hang out with awesometastic folks like you guys and talk about things I love, voting, Mock Trial...the list is a long one.  But most especially, my world is rocked by my crazycakes MiniCavs, whether they're getting excited about vegetables or dancing around the house rehearsing musical numbers, it's tough to be sad in their company. Yesterday, Micah (my littlest) appeared in his swim trunks and goggles and announced he was going swimming.  I explained that it was too cold, at which point he ran out of the room, reappeared a minute later in a sunguard shirt, and told me "Now I won't be too cold because I have long sleeves on." Every day is like that.  Total awesomesauce :).

What makes my world awesome to me is just having my wonderful girlfriend, friends and family and being able to spend time with them. I am very thankful for them and this weekend i plan to hang out with my grandma and take her out to dinner for her anniversary. Most of all i am thankful for life.

Peace Be With Logan Wells

I am so grateful to be living the life that I do. I am blessed with an amazing family, two dogs (AKA my best friends), and an incredible amount of people that I care so deeply for (my friends). My youngest sister, Bella, is 7. She definitely keeps me going and inspires me to be the best big sister that I can be. She dfinitely fills my day with laughter and continues to porve to be my mini-me more and more each day. When tragedies like this occur, it's definitely a reminder to live life to the fullest and never take anything for granted. I didn't know Logan, but I really wish that I had the chance to. The impact he's had on the students of El Dorado, Yorba Linda, and even the OC is incredible. Shred in peace Logan! #skatepark4logan

I am thankful for my friends and family who are supportive of the things I do. I enjoy spending quality time with the people that I am close to especially at concerts. This weekend I am attending Logan's service with my friends. I did not know him well but 1st period just isn't the same without him, and his passing has impacted the lives of many of my friends as well as the entire school. I am glad there is so much attention and care being put into his service and the petition for the skatepark. R.I.P. Logan Wells

I am so thankful for my parents. My life would not run without them, they are my directors in all do. However, they do raise me independent and do responsible things on my own, which is they perfect medium. Music rocks my world. No pun intended. I love reading whether it is poems, books, articles. I also love the rain and hot tea, there is nothing better. I like the little things and i think those are most important for me to remember at this time at just appreciate them because they do mater. I am so thankful to even be here. I am terrified of death and it breaks my heart to hear about Logan.

I am incredibly passionate about helping others and making people's day. Wether it be through my humor to make someone laugh or to give someone a hug when they are down, i love being able to be there for others. I am actually going to college to study Psychology and become and a child/family therapist. Im beyond thankful for my parents and all they do for my brother and I. They always support us in whatever we do or want to accomplish. My grandparents are the best people I know, and I wouldn't be the same person I am today without them. This weekend was really nice because I got to spend time with my family, I went shopping with my mom and grandma and then went to my brothers game yesterday and got to be with them all day. Logan was a good friend of mine and last week was really tough for me but I'm so lucky to have such great support and comfort from my friends and family.

I am thankful for the time I had with Logan. Though it was not nearly enough time I am so glad I had the opportunity to be his friend. Bliss is when I am at the skate park with my friends watching them skate and be happy and remembering the good times we had with Logan. Just being with them makes the day ok. I have no idea what I would do without them.

I really am thankful for my family. They have supported me throughout my entire life and have put up with me. Today is my mom's birthday so I am really excited to celebrate it. Logan's death was very sad for me. Last year in 6th period we would just talk about random things like donuts or something like that. I am very thankful for the life I live. RIP Logan Wells. #skatepark4logan

My bliss? Family. Any time with family makes my life amazing & I happen to have friends that are practically family to me. I know the grieve of losing someone close to me and it seems to be happening constantly but I always find peace and happiness in my family. I'm also grateful I got the chance to know someone as amazing as Logan. Shred In Paradise. <3
