Brazil World Cup 2014: man shot dead near England team hotel - TrailMix

Brazilian police have clashed with a gang close to the luxury hotel where the England team will stay in Rio de Janeiro during the World Cup, leaving one man dead and increasing security fears less than six weeks before the tournament kicks off. A 24-year-old suspect was killed after an exchange of gunfire in Rocinha, the biggest favela in the city with a population of around 200,000.

With the England team coming to Brazil very soon, what precautions should be taken in advanced? if there is still violence when the team should be arriving, is it really safe to be endangering the players? What are your thoughts?

The police should make stricter security and check everyone. it is not safe to endanger the players, but the game must go on.

There should be more precautions taken by law enforcement and people in general. There will always be these kinds of people in the world and it is best just to keep as far away from them as possible.

The England national should not stay at that hotel it's as simple as that, it is a security risk. If they don't do that they should definitely beef up security at the hotel.

I think it is up to the players if they want to put themselves in that danger. I think they should up the security and try to stay away from drama in the situation as much as possible.

I think they should move the players to more safe locations to stay and increase the security around wherever they are staying.

There should be more security just as a precaution, because it is almost guaranteed that tension will be high. Although it is ultimately up to the plpayers to abstain from violence, they will not be the only ones to be affected if there is an outbreak. Even though this may be endangering the players, no one cares because they just want the games to continue.

I think the security should be more alert and aware of dangers around. I do not think the team should stay at the hotel. They would be at so much risk.

I am personally worried for the players and hope that no one gets hurt because of the fact that Brazil will improve their security

Security needs to be increased and if that doesn't work they should be moved to a different presentation.

They should increase the security around and in the area, not only for the players but for the tourists and civilians in the area. Although the players are going to be in danger, the games must go on. If the games were canceled the outbreak would be much worse. The best they could do is relocate the team to a different, and safer hotel as another precaution.

In my opinion where the team is staying should be heavily guarded and if violence is still occurring the team should find a safer alternative.

i think they should definitely increase security because everyone deserves a safe environment for this event. its something to bring many countries together in watching their teams compete for the world cup and the players or fans don't deserve to be exposed to such danger

They should move the players to a safer location and increase the security. They should not have to face this danger.

They should add a lot more security for the England team coming and the team itself should hire themselves personal body guards.
