lost species of snake that eluded scientists for nearly 80 years has been rediscovered in Mexico, a US museum says. The Clarion Nightsnake was found on the Pacific island of Clarion in Mexico by a researcher from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Although never declared extinct, it was struck from the record after scientists were unable to rediscover it. The snake was first discovered in 1936 by naturalist William Beebe. DNA tests confirmed that the Clarion Nightsnake was indeed genetically distinct from others found in mainland Mexico.
I definitely think that this is awesome & I actually do like snakes as long as they're in a cage, locked up, and unable to hurt me. If they aren't poisonous I'll actually be brave enough to hold one.. maybe even feed it some mice.
As John said, i think its pretty rad that they have made this discovery. I do not think too much about snakes but i do think they are a pretty cool species.
I think it's cool fro science that they found it again and it's actually not extinct. But personally I hate snakes with a passion cause they are scary and dangerous. Let's just say I've had some not so good encounters with snakes.
I think its awesome that they discovered these new species of snake and i hope that we can help them survive and not go extinct like many animal species now a days.
I think that scientifically this is good. However, snakes are probably one of my biggest fears in life. I have had many encounters with snakes and they have not been good at all!!
I think it's cool that we rediscovered this snake. This actually reminds me how many species we didn't discover yet. Talking more towards the ocean, we only scratched the surface with only 5% of it explored. Just imagine all the possible species down under.
It's exciting that we are able to re-discover species! Extinction is very prevalent in our environment today, and that is such a saddening thing. Soon, our animals will be dwindled down to nothing, and there will be no variety. Snakes are cool as long as they are nowhere near me!
